The guy in 2015:

A whopping 20 months of co-op experience, probably couldn't find a job and then went to do his Masters. So essentially guy bragging he made 150k a year but has pretty much no experience in actually engineering field.

Petroleum engineering is certainly an interesting field to double down on in the past few years...

Doing petroleum masters now while working - our staffing of res/prod engineers seems pretty stable. We couldn't fill the last res. eng. job that was posted..

Definitely a gamble for someone without work; although, a frac operator gig isn't a bad way in. Especially during a downturn...just gotta hope some degree of development continues lol.

I am not too familiar with that area, but I have heard about it. I am in Event Management. I think we were supposed to end up under a different director, but our current one doesn't want to let us go. It is a bit of a weird thing to watch unfold... Both directors want us, and fighting over it. LOL, i guess that is some sort of job security...

Tbd, the area I am going to isn’t likely a permanent place, they are throwing a bunch of stuff against the wall, seeing what sticks, then picking up what didn’t stick, and throwing that against another wall. Rinse repeat.

Why would you need to hide anything when frac companies have been begging anyone with a pulse and two brain cells to rub together to work for them for the last 10 months? Hell all of them take class 5 guys (albeit those are the first guys to get the axe when crews get "right sized")
