I have a similar feeling. back end gets squirmy over bumps. upgrading to the bilstein 5100s fixes it.

What's the consensus on the '18s with the 10 spd auto? There's some pretty good discounts on right now and I have the urge to switch vehicles again haha.

I have had the 10 spd since october and put around 7000km on it. Driving around town and on the highway there has not been any issues (I do need that TSB for the rattle) and did a trip down to great falls in December. No issues at all and mine is paired with the 5.0 If I launch from a light it wants to shift rather quickly (reduced a bit with sport mode) but it's not something I do often. Other then that it's not bad with the 3.73 gears. That Sync 3 system and the horrible nav maps, that is a different story.

i have that with the EB and have no complaints. I did a ton of reading on the f150forums before i bought and the guys that have the 6spd hate the 10 spd(its also from a quick test drive typically) and the guys that had the 6spd and went to the 10spd love it. Theres a lot of talk about it being jerky from trying to find the right gear but ive never noticed anything like that unless im in sport mode

and I did not have the only say in the matter (most people just want it done ASAP and don't care about quality).

If anything we made a better decision because we had a consensus and were all on the same page.

10 speed auto is fine. It's verging on a CVT really. Skip gears all the time.

I have 12K kms on mine and no issues. It's smoother than the 6-speed in my 2010 that was constantly clunking into 1st from second when slowing down.

thats probably because most people on those forums are retarded and feel the need to drive in sport mode all the time.

Thanks guys. I had a '13 & '15 with the EB motor. Haven't taken a 10spd out but noticed the deals recently on the 18's and it has me thinking about it again.

Love the 10spd so far, sooooo much better than the 6spd in my 15' Sierra SLT. The gear changes are imperceptible, and best of all it's very quick to skip a few gears if you need to accelerate more briskly.

If you do end up wanting one and they have it at Cam clark LMK. They offer a $700 referral fee and id be glad to pass that all to you. When i got mine it was from a buddy referral too and my buddy said he didnt want any of it so the sales guy called him to verify and they took it off the sale price. Easy $700

    Did a ricer mod

It was bugging me that the only yellow looking halogen bulbs on the whole truck were the license plate bulbs so I swapped in some LED's

Prices are in USD but the company is actually out of Vancouver. It's where I got mine.
Just a heads up to anyone who's looking at getting an OBDLink MX, Amazon had it this morning for $120 CAD w/ Free Shipping. Usually it's $176.
Otherwise the link 94boosted posted would be your best bet.

I've had a 2011, 2013, 2015, and now a 2017 F-150 EB. The switch to the 10spd was fine. For day to day driving it's way nicer than the 6spd. Smooth as butter. It still has all the grunt of the 6spd EB when you need it. What it doesn't really do is burn through the higher RPM's like the 6spd. Put on sport mode and it holds the gear longer, but you don't spend much time in the high RPM's. You don't lose any speed or acceleration over it though...just maybe some of the adrenaline of the high RPM's. I do miss the high RPM's sometimes...but I wouldn't go back.

I finally decided to do something about that crazy long antenna on the F-150. After years of it hitting my garage door, and on parkade ceilings, I installed a stubby! Works great. Easy install.

Long antennas are that way just for AM radio reception.

Not exactly true. In a relative sense you’re right AM requires a longer antenna. However the rough rule i believe is about 1/4 the wavelength of the signal. FM radio transmits between 87.5 and 107MHz. This works out to a wavelength of 3.4 and 2.8m respectively. 1/4 of that would be 86 and 69cm. Whip antennas I think usually fall about in that range.

Dropping to a short antenna in the absence of additional gain you absolutely will impact reception especially as you move away from the transmitter. I’ve experienced this first hand as the FM reception on my vw went to shit outside the city when I switched the RC car looking antenna for a stubby.

But who the hell really listens to radio still anyways

Anyone else have large amounts of clunking in the rear end on bumpy roads at low speeds? 2018 f150. Ford told me today that it was normal side to side free play in the rear axle shafts but man is it brutally loud and annoying. It sounds like going over a speed bump in a car with no struts left.
Fuck sakes I thought I was the only one! It’s so annoying! Spoke with the lead technician at advantage ford and he said he wants to work with me to try and figure out what exactly it’s causing that. He did mention that the free play is normal but can’t figure out why it’s making that noise
