Apex Legends

Apex Legends came out yesterday. A fun free battle royale game by the people who made Titanfall. Pretty polished so far, teams of 3 w/ 60 people per game (Always, no solo or quads currently) with an interesting map and operators similar to overwatch with different abilities to use int he game. Worth checking out on Xbox/PS4/PC. I like the ping system though so you don't have to use a mic but you can point things out fast and easily like loot or an enemy.

$0. You get 6 of 8 legends from the get-go and the other two can be unlocked via in game currency or premium currency. Otherwise, everything is cosmetic like in say R6 Siege or Overwatch. If I like it enough I will probably get one of the starter packs with some skins or whatever to support development. There are of course loot boxes, but you also get 1 per level in game and you get odds displayed and also a guaranteed legendary every so many boxes.

I tried this on PC and now Xbox/Xbox One X. Runs great on all obviously with PC being the best. If you have PSN/EA Access/Origin Access Premier you always get some game coins and skins. The ping system is still amazing and very fluid. They even have a roadmap unlike say Blops 4 which has been out since last fall.

The game is super fun, coming from Overwatch the different abilities/ultimates are a nice touch.

I'm pretty much done with the game. Unless you have solid friends or a team to play in.. you are in a lot of cycling of death vs playing.

I've also noticed time to join a new match lately has increased.

I don't play solo.. I play with randoms but you die so much and spend more time dying than playing.

Did you ever play PUBG / H1Z1 / Realm / COD? Apex has been the fastest load-screen of them all thus far (PUBG the worst, sometimes 5 minutes waiting) Apex you just get qued straight away and load into the drop ship instantly.

The awesome thing about Apex is the 3 man squads because it's easier to round up + 2 friends to come join your games, especially when this game is free!
They've confirmed working on solo + duo modes though I saw on reddit...

My group is loving Apex, the mechanics are super unique (ziplines, slides, sprinting, jumping / climbing etc.) and the class abilities is a first in the BR world (compared to the others, I have over 1000 hours into PUBG haha, I will never play again at this point..)

I've played them all... and I can sit for 30 seconds to a minute without getting into a game quite often. And because you get teamed with randoms, you die within before the first circle closes and then the wait again.

I am having an OK time with randos on PC or Xbox. I did finally convince one friend to try though and it was a much better experience. Our third guy seemingly didn't understand how to revive us though but we ended up coming 2nd which is my best result. I do still like it a lot especially since Blackout has gotten so stagnant.

Goooooood Was thinking maybe you were on PS4 with wait time complaints haha... but 30 seconds - 1 Min. is pretty awesome compared to PUBG and COD (2 - 5 minutes)

Ended up in a game with Shroud haha, he destroyed us..



PC Setup pic, 34" is kinda wide for this but with the FOV at max it's ridiculous for spotting other teams...

Apex Legends is a bit different because of the 3 man crew and the smaller maps and teams. If you REALLY do not work as a team in any way you will certainly fail immediately.
