How are countries that have had zero deaths and almost zero cases not on the approved travel lists for Europe? Makes me wonder what the criteria is.

Is there a trustworthy factors? Like I don't think I'll ever trust numbers from India/China/Phillipines/Thailand.

Or is there a risk vs reward formula somewhere?

Mongolia, for example, had a textbook perfect response that started back in JANUARY when every other country was brushing it off until March-ish. It's been so widely reported on that I don't get the sense they are fudging any numbers, especially since they were months ahead of most other countries. I just found it odd that they aren't allowed entry when other countries who have had a far worse response are no problem.

Yes sir. Best card ever (for me anyway). Fingers crossed it doesn't go away or become garbage like Rogers did to their MasterCard effective June 1.

Capital One even bailed me out of ~$12K fraudulent charges when my CC was stolen in a Vegas Strip Club. I don't know how many companies would do that, let alone believe me (because I was also there). I am a customer for life as long as they let me keep that card haha.

I've also never been denied a claim or a perk (like price protection) on that card to date.
I just got notification that the points are going down from 2% to 1.5% /debbiedowner

Yeah, they started sending letters back in June. Still not a bad card but it had the shine taken off it for sure.

I'll still probably stick with them because of how incredible their service is, at least until I find something dramatically better.

I think if companies allows WFH and you job function allows it, I can't see why you can't quarantine AND work at the same time.

Per capita, HK has 10x less infection than Canada. (0.3% vs 0.02%)

As been next to US, I'm surprised EU didn't ban us by association.
I see that point. I don't feel too confident on HK/China reporting its stats vs Canada.

Until July 1st, HK was reliable.

Now, it's basically China after they passed that vague security law. It's a matter of time before reporting true infection number is a classified country secret and anyone saying anything CCP doesn't want you to know will get sent to vocational facilities.

That's gonna be the US soon, they just changed the reporting so that info about beds and hospital capacity doesn't go to the CDC anymore but rather through the white House to 'streamline' reporting

Was to be wed next month and honeymoon in November in Mexico. Not doing any of that, except for signing the documents with a commissioner. Hoping to have a fake ceremony, reception and dance next year but I'm starting to think we won't be any further ahead with Covid than we are now. See what happens.

    Bumpity Bump...

Anyone flown or flying to Europe?
I'm looking at flights to London in October to see my parents. I don't like the idea of self isolation in the London dungeons for two weeks, then a week of freedom. Not much that can be done though.

I have only flown within Canada and the noticeable difference is that in July the planes were near empty while in August they are virtually full.

When did 'hogwash' become such a popular term again?

Good news sun seekers. WestJet is resuming seasonal service to popular vacation destinations including flights from Calgary to Palm Springs, Phoenix, Cancun, Puerto Vallarta and Cabo San Lucas.

Yay? Nay? Boo? With 14 day quarantine required on return, would you be interested?

The key is to be wealthy enough to charter a private bizjet.

The real wealthy ones are already on their Caribbean islands, they don’t travel by planes when they can just rip around on their boat worth more than most downtown office buildings.

As for Palm Springs and Phoenix, what’s new about that? Didn’t regular flights to the US essentially never stop?
