Default Any Calgary dealers buying vehicles to export to the US?

I’ve had a few friends sell to US buyers camped through Canadian dealerships in smaller places in AB. Med Hat, Lethbridge, etc. Any dealers doing that in Calgary. I’m interested in looking into this but I’m not really interested in spending a day+ on it..

advertise your car for sale, buyers or middlemen will find you, sell car for higher offer.

or is that not what you are asking?

This. If you’re expecting to sell it for USD start your own business and export it yourself and find a buyer.

    I don't think that's what he's asking.

Dealers like Davis GM in Medicine Hat have days or weekends or weeks where US buyers come in, you bring your vehicle in, they give you an offer and you either take it or you don't. Depending on your situation it makes more or less sense than selling privately. It won't be top dollar because there's at least two people between you and the next owner that want to make money, but it's the absolute least amount of fucking around and it opens up a market that you wouldn't have access to with something like Kijiji.

To answer OP, I don't know. Davis in the Hat does it, maybe Murray does too. I'm sure there's a Davis or Murray local to you that might do it also.

Yeah, you nailed it! Vehicle moves quickly, not a ton of hassle, not many stupid questions, etc.

Davis specifically is the outfit in Med Hat that I heard was doing this. “I heard” that it was in in the morning and cheque in hand later that afternoon. Buddy sold his GMC pickup, nothing special and I thought he got more than retail - but I’m a cheap-ass too hah!

Yeah it's quick. I've sold one to them and I don't think it took longer than an hour. No questions and I don't even know if they drove it.

I'd imagine proximity to the border is why they're doing it down here. I don't know where the buyers are from but I'd guess they're within a day's drive. So there might not be anyone in Calgary that does it. But depending on the vehicle they might work with you. A low mile diesel would probably be appealing to them. A base model SUV with several hundred thousand miles probably wouldn't.

My guess is those have too limited a market for a dealer to snap up with "no questions, and here's a cheque".

Gen 1 raptor would sell really well in the US. There's a demand for them (some prefer the V8 over the latest iteration).
depends on condition of course, but doesn't hurt to advertise it up here first. i've seen a lot of low mile ones go for mid $50's still.

You are missing the point of this thread. Guy doesn't want to advertise or search for a buyer.

Nope, point not missed. Just questioning why someone would not want to get top dollar for their niche vehicles when it's fairly easy to do in this market. He's sitting on a pair of very desirable autos. but if he wants to fire sale one...the reason is none of my business.
I suspect the couple of folks in the auto industry on this site have already PM'd him..so it will work out for him in the end (and quickly)

I thought the thread was about still getting retail or higher and it essentially being a seamless, wholesale transaction with a buyer.

Try reaching out to August Motorsports in Kelowna on the Viper, my buddy was offered a fairly attractive sum for his 13' a few months back. Apparently they themselves or someone they work with is exporting them but not just to the states, they're quite desirable in other parts of the world.
