Here’s the vaccine outrage timeline from what I was able to gather.

    1. AHS decides to save 2nd dose. Twitter gets upset.
    2. Alberta Heath tells AHS to not save the 2nd dose. Things go good for a bit.
    3. We start running out for 2nd dose. Twitter gets upset at decision to push vaccines so fast.
    4. Presser calls out for more dosage so we don’t run out. Twitter gets upset that we’re mismanaging everything and blaming the feds.
    5. Notley’s basically at the forefront of fanning the Twitter outrage.

Right now we basically have a government run by Twitter.

In terms of Alberta politics Twitter is absolutely toxic. And Notley is a pathetic opportunist about it.

Running out of vaccines is a good thing, no? Means they are being used up to people who need/want them. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Unfortunately pfizer announced for February Canada's shipments will be reduced by half as they are doing plant upgrades. We'll still get the same amount by the end of March it'll just be a delay in schedule for ~4 weeks starting Jan 25th then made up in the following month.

She has been nothing short of a humiliating child since March. One sensible thing has come out of her mouth and it was the 9 minutes when she was pushing for rapid testing at elderly care facilities. Then she hopped on some other tangent of cluster fuckery and hasn't looked back.

I love that some lurker who hasn’t been on beyond in years is getting an email about that mention.

Running out of vaccines is the simplest move politically and the pragmatic move for the rollout.

Use up vaccines, you show you have the ability for a speedy rollout, blame is off you and onto someone else, have the easy high ground of “we are vaccinating as much as shipment allows...

The “we don’t have shortages, we are vaccinating the eligible people who can get one” to deflect from one set of haters at one press conference and “we are running out of vaccine because the feds are screening up” at another is how you open the doors for the shitstorm we’re getting because you’re trying to play so many sides all at once. Just dumb.

Similar to the claim AHS was holding back second doses when less than a third of the doses were administered as an excuse for not vaccinating a couple days because they weren’t approved for overtime were just a stupid political move. Would have been easy to pay for the overtime, using the federal wage top up, and reach the vaccination goals.

Speaking back to the overtime, how much further ahead are we only 2-3 weeks later? Already out of supplies. Could have waited the couple days, saved a bunch of money on OT and still been in the same place today.

Why do you hate public sector workers?

Because of things like refusing to get vaccinated for a pandemic unless they get OT pay.

Those 2-3 weeks could have resulted in more infections/deaths. With the amount of money we've already lost due to Covid, a few OT hours is just a drop in the ocean.
