Went to the NE Memex and talked to one of the guys that works there, at 5:30pm today they had about 30 3070's left, pretty much all ASUS TUF Cards ($809.99). But they were selling out really fast, he told me they received ~100 only a couple days prior. I watched about 3 people walk out with one in the 20mins I was there

I managed to snag an ASUS TUF AMD RX 6800, last one they had on the shelves. Not quite the 3080 I wanted but pretty darn close.

How much was that?

I've been looking for a 6800, I didn't think they were available at all

I picked up 2 from Memory Express on Monday. They both had Iron Wolf Pros.

Which is great because I'm replacing my 4TB NAS drives with them!

On sale again for $199.99 till the end of the day on BestBuy.ca & Amazon.ca.

Picked up 2 more from Memory Express. Had to get 2 managers to approve the price beat because it was lower than their cost (??).

Memex sold out before I got there today. No 3070s left

Guy in front of me was asking about 3090s it think. The sales guy pointed to the empty racks behind him and said they're usually would be full of video cards (so good luck finding anything !! ).

AMD 5800x - salesbro said 2 weeks for it to arrive and my name to come up according to orders coming in
Gigabyte Aorus GeForce RTX 3070 - same delivery times as the 5800x

So in about 2-3 weeks, my new gaming rig will be ready to be built! Getting excited now!

Ok, here is my final build design. I have started ordering all the parts, is there anything I am missing here, or that I need to watch out for? I changed back to the Dark Hero MB as it states it is ready for the new AMD chips right out of the box and won't need a bios update.

And I am ordering a bunch of fans off Amazon that seem to review really well.

Looks good to me. The only two nitpicky things I would mention is:

1) That is the slower version of that RAM kit, there is a faster version that uses Samsung B-Die with 16-16-16-36 instead of 16-19-19-39 timings - it won't make a massive difference, just want to make sure you're aware of the differences in those two NEO kits. I bought the faster version for $300 but I am not sure if it's still only a small premium. If it's a lot more expensive now you may not want to bother as it's not a huge difference, but Ryzen benefits from fast RAM more than other platforms.

2) For only an extra $100 you may consider going with the 980 Pro 1TB SSD just for PCI 4.0 and any future benefits that may bring, but as of today it isn't going to be something you notice playing games or whatever. They're in stock for $309 right now at BestBuy and maybe other places too.

Depending how many fans your order be careful about going with non name brand with this case. If you populate all 9 slots it will get super loud if you get something cheap. I did a build for someone recently and they didn't research bought 3pin. The bearing was loud af.

I highly recommend a liguid cooler with this case based off of the airflow directions. Plus it comes with 3 fans

Jayztwocents gave them a pretty good rating, and a thumbs up to buy. I figure I will give them a shot. If they turn out to be crap, I am not out too much cash.

Sometimes too many fans, especially with crossing air paths, make airflow worse rather than better - you probably don't need to fill every slot. I would do some experimenting if you have the time or inclination.

I think the worst case for thermals that GamersNexus tested had 12 fans or something like that haha.

Good news! My motherboard arrived at MemX today, and I am going to pick it up tomorrow! This thing has been really hard to get as demand has been really high.

Make sure you do a nice big OC, that is the only mobo that can OC Ryzen properly right now

I'm still waiting for my 5950x and at this point I'm betting it'll be at least another month.

At the start of the build, I had no interest in doing OC. But now that I have been doing more research and watching guys like GN and Jayz, I think it will be something I want to learn how to do, and as such, decided to get this board over something cheaper.

I still have no idea how to do it, but the fact this thing is easy to switch BIOS and clear CMOS at the touch of a button, I am keen to learn.

With the o11 it actually makes a big difference on temps for both cpu and gpu to have all slots filled. That being said still within spec doing bare minimum with just side intake and top exhaust (makes gpu about 8c hotter). Filling all slots was overkill but you dont buy a case like that then half ass the fan setup hahaah
