Are they including 5G now or still just LTE? Also push for the extra 20% off for 2 years to get it down to $36 a month

To my knowledge all the big 3 dropped the concept of extra charges for 5G.

Not for these Rogers winback plans, i'm still showing LTE unfortunately. General public advertised plans i think you're right, every plan gets 5G.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I think it's all part of their strategy.. get you onto Rogers with the winback deals, then when you decide you want 5G or you want a shareable plan to add a watch/tablet, your only option is to give up your cheap plan and switch to their expensive ones at double the cost.
Didn't ask that question, I'm not sure.
Edit: the data was shareable
Apparently Rogers caveat is that their “infinite” plans include it, with no comment on any other plans. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Those of you who have ordered a phone from telus before... Does it just randomly show up one day? I got a confirmation that I bought it but literally 0 information on how I am supposed to get it, I assume they are shipping it to me? Eventually?
I don't think I have ever not just walked into a store and physically bought the phone before lol.

Low-cost plansLow-cost and occasional-use wireless service plans
The CRTC wants Canadians to have better access to affordable wireless services for their cell phones and other mobile devices.
We are therefore expecting Bell, Rogers, Telus and SaskTel to offer and promote low-cost and occasional-use plans. These providers are expected to offer the following by July 14, 2021.
Maximum $35/month
Unlimited Canada-wide incoming and outgoing calls
Unlimited text messages (SMS)
The ability to send and receive photos, videos and other media files (MMS)
At least 3 GB of data
Bring your own device
Promotion of plans
Providers must promote their plans prominently on their websites and in their stores and kiosks. Their customer service representatives must also promote these plans.
We encourage you to contact your service provider. They will have more information on what low-cost and occasional-use plans are available to you. We also encourage you to shop around for a different plan or different provider if you are not satisfied with their current offers.
"expected to offer" So what does that mean?
You can't even get that price with Public Mobile on 3g right now haha.
Time for the call phone companies to re-boot the 2g network.

Fido is giving free iPhone 12 and 15GB/mth for $75/mth in Costco along with $150 GC and free accessories.
A $35/mth 3GB BYOD plan may not be the best plan.

My wife is considering the Shaw $0/month plan since she is such a low data user. I'm a but concerned with what happens when she leaves the Shaw network and switches to the "variable" or "Nationwide" in terms of service coverage and fees for using data.
Anyone on Shaw that can comment?

On the $0 plan, you pay $10 per GB of usage which applied to both home and roaming. Each GB purchased is good for 90 days. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
https://shop.shawmobile.ca/en-CA/plansYou may purchase By The Gig Data one-time passes $10 per 1GB, valid for up to 90 days, which can be used on the Shaw or Nationwide Networks. Pay-per-use, one-time passes and additional add-on charges are extra and may change
Also the Shaw sim comes with Shaw wifi hotspot auto config so when you are in reach of a Shaw wifi hotspot (if it's not congested as hell) you get data via hotspot.

Fido is ditching these tablets with $5/mth discount on tablet plans, making it $5/mth for 4GB.
May be great for people rocking dual sim phones or looking for a cheap tablet plan.

Damn pretty good deals. I wouldn’t mind a spare tablet for the kids to use for $5 a month. Thx for sharing, will give them a call later to see if I can make this work. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
@shakalaka you may be interested in this? Could sign up for this then just Pop the sim in your iPad if you’re still looking for a solution
@sabad66 good looking out. Thanks. As long as they don't expect you to also have a phone line or some shit then this might be the way to go I think. Let me know if you do call them, what goes down. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

So interesting chain of events. I called twice over the weekend with no luck. Both times they quoted the t&cs saying you need to have an existing Fido voice plan. However just now I tried again for fun and actually had success! One thing I did differently was choose option 1 (have account) instead of option 2 (new customer)This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
It was kind of weird because on their end they could see an account but pretty sure it was my Rogers account coming up because they had my newer address. Long story short, he signed me up. I got the zte grand view 4 tablet for $0 and then $5 off the $10/4gb plan so total I’m paying $5 a month over 24 months for the plan including a brand new (shitty) tablet. Didn’t even run a credit check. Planning to put the SIM card in my car head unit and giving the tablet to my kid. Win/win
Definitely worth a try for anyone interested. Make sure you push option 1 when you call in.
