I think its bs to require it in a garage. I understand in a dwelling, but don't think it should be required in a detached garage.....company was called spray foamworks. Seemed to do a good job. Foam was slightly more expensive then other quotes, the bat/poly was the same and thermal paint was a fair amount cheaper. Overall was about $500 cheaper than other quotes. And was recommended by my builder. They installed the bat and poly for the walls cheaper than I could buy it
    Perfect. Good call.
I'm still a bit uncomfortable/confused to have them spray the roof structure rather than the ceiling structure because of where the vapour barrier ends up being in the overall building envelope, but I'm sure it's fine. All of that is less relevant when it's not a living space that has conditioned, moist air being put into the space. IE - it's not like you're heating it with air that's been put through a humidifier, so I guess having the vapour barrier be in the roof isn't a big deal.

Well no, but if a person intends to drive their car in the winter then park in the garage, it will be plenty humid. Potentially more than the house.

Heated garage in winter is much more humid than house, for sure.

I was going to say… humidity in a garage seems like a VERY solvable problem.

Getting the concrete floor all fixed up in the next couple weeks. The builder is also going to cover the cost to epoxy coat it after the repair. Any colour of flake to stay away from? Any one have regrets for one you picked?

Flooring just needs the top coat.

Had to push back my heater hook up since they took an extra day for prep.

Ohhhh, I've been tempted seeing them in the other threads. They look really good in a pattern....I've been put on a short leash with more spending out there though. This garage has ballooned out of my wife's thought of garage buget....

I think he hates power bars.

Also, this pic made me look up how much a sheet of plywood costs now, holy shit is it way cheaper that it was in the summer.

I think I put 4 outlets where I knew my work bench would be. Pennies spent during design prevent so much headache later.
    Add all the outlets!

My current garage has 2 outlets in the entire thing, plus a 240V (for a "#Eco coal burning electric car") that would only fit a clothes dryer. I don't understand how that meets code when there's 48 feet of wall with zero outlets.

Receptacles are cheep, except for the ones with the USB slot in them. They are like $20+ a pop. That wall will be my bench.

Side note.....this flooring is the worst to find a dropped screw on.

My garage has like 4 receptacles per wall, including USB. Previous owner went to town.
