You're absolutely correct. They also need better D, but their goaltending basically guarantees a continued lack of success.

Controversial, but I think the officiating is appropriate based on this being only Round-1.

There are too many players playing like this was Game-7 of the finals and I think it's appropriate to settle them down early. Otherwise, we'd have "no blood - no foul", within Game-3 of Round-1 and the reality is, no one actually wants that.
Refereeing is incredibly difficult.

Although I'll still say... What fucking difference has 2 refs made (aside from CONSTANTLY being in the way) in the last 20 year experiment of two refs??!?
That's an experiment that needs to end.
