This was part of the ultra deep low that was over the Aluteian islands a week or 2 ago - 30m waves there - Tofino got some serious waves about a week ago too.

Waking up to rain against the window though, thats not typical here - almost ever.

Quite few people all across sask ended up spending the nights in their cars. I saw a few pictures and people couldn't see the end of their hoods. Lots of towns and cities without power for hours over there too. Crazy!

Ya it was pretty crazy here, wind peaked at 160km/h and there were wide-spread power outages in Sask. Our power went off/on for a couple hours then stayed on at midnight. Others were not so lucky and still don't have power. Everything was snow blasted and covered in thick layers of snow and ice. Price of doing business in Saskatchewan.

I'm not sure what time you drove down there, but around 7AM there was a pickup truck with Bobcat and trailer facing up the hill, but through the chain link fence at the bottom of the hill. I'm guessing he started sliding and spun completely around and went through the fence. There was a tow truck nearby and it was gone when I drove back up the hill around 7:30.

If there isn't a major pile up at the bottom of that hill this morning, I'll be surprised. Lots of traffic diverted that way with the 14st hill being closed due to a house fire.

If I was @finboy I'd setup a lawn chair nearby and watch.
    I like neat cars.

That 19th st Hill is quite the experience.

Looks like we have more coming our way before the week is out as well as some bitter fucking cold so doesn’t look like any of it will be going anywhere any time

Tbh though, not getting any real cold until the super bowl? That’s pretty unheard of for Calgary.

There was a cop car and two cars already left the road when I drove by at ~740-45ish so I had a bit of warning. Yeah avoid that hill, any braking and you are toast lol.

Yeah. Was on Glenmore at 6:15, completely unplowed. Deerfoot north up to 17th, no sign a plow had been there at all, then north of 17th it looked a plow had been through, but not for several hours. I expect better from Carmacks. It isn't like this snow was unexpected. We had warnings at 2pm yesterday.
