Default Does anyone run flare dispersion models as part of their job?

I'm trying to run version 2.17 for a flare dispersion model but I keep getting some errors that are driving me nuts. I assume its a function of a shitty VBA based model but it could also be operator error. Zeltpsi hasn't been any help so I was hoping someone here who has ran these recently could offer some guidance.

An example of the issues I'm having is that any time I try to "Get LCC Data" from the CAN_LC_2015_CAL.tif file I've downloaded from his link (1.6GB) I keep getting the error that it does not appear to be a geotiff file.

I'll need to run a refined model so if I can't get the topographical map linked correctly I have no idea how the heck I'm going to get the meteorological data to work. This is my first time trying to run one of these things and I'm about ready to smash my keyboard.

I've paid PhD's to do it and hated every expensive minute of it. I hope you figure it out so if I'm lucky, we can find a way to pay you for it in the future!

My engineer was doing it, then he found a good program to do it, then it turned into the guy who wrote the program just doing it for us haha..

I passed your question on to someone who does dispersion modeling regularly. His response:

"That version 2.17 is shit. I've got a newer unreleased version from the developer. It works with the geotif file."

PM'ed everybody! Today's helpful response through ABflare bug reporting was "did you unzip the file"? I tried to post this on reddit as it sounds like a user on there has the meterological data in trade for beer but I just had Speedog go all old-man-yelling-at-clouds on me so I deleted it.

I remember that guy from here. He was always saying the nicest and most encouraging things... To those who were not Me.
