Hmm..I am tempted to order. I like how it's obd and out of the way install which is why I don't get one. No sense in paying for professional install since I would get rid of the vehicle in 6 or so months. SO this seems like a good option.

Anyone see any drawbacks with it?

Only downsides I can see is the monthly subscription required, and no mention of camera quality...

Rear facing night vision camera with audio ... neat

I can see this being really popular with Uber drivers etc, and voyeurs.

Is my onlyfams link big enough to cover the ring logo on the bottom right?

Ah yea, I didn't contemplate the subscription part. I hate that shit, even with my ring doorbell camera I haven't actually gotten a subscription yet. Though will likely soon. I think that reason would be enough for me to stay away from this dash cam.

With the Ring Protect Go subscription you have access to live view.

I agree completely, but I do have the Ring subscription for my doorbell also and it kina is worth it. Way easier than my self monitoring home cameras and storage of recordings. If they have a bundle for this with the doorbell I may just get a couple of these. Depending on camera/vid quality.

Wife's new onlyfans account should be able to pay for the subscription.

Yea I have been anticipating subscribing for the home door anyway, so if there is a combo or something then I may consider it. I like the clean looks and ease of install of the dash cam for sure so that's a big place and the price itself isn't terrible. Though I think it's 200USD and that site shows it's not available to be shipped to Canada.

Any experience with Fitcamx? It replaces the stock housing with a cam integrated one and uses the power from the rain sensor.

I usually go to Visions. < $100 to get it professionally hard wired.
nothing visions does is professional, that's like saying you go to Canadian tire for mechanical work.

It's not the size that matters, it's the taste it leaves in your mouth.

Got my fitcamx. Install was fairly easy. From the new housing you can tell where to push the interlocking tabs to remove the factory one. Once you got the housing off, it's plug and play and pushing the new housing on. My wiring is somewhat different so it took me some guessing to figure out which one is the rain sensor. Confirmed it with a spray bottle. Since it's integrated it looks factory with nothing extra stuck on the windshield. Video quality is fine. I believe it uses the same hardware as most dashcam. You can have parking mode and dual set up but you'll have to run the wiring which I don't want to do. So far I'm happy.

Blackvue 900x Plus is Great with its 4K and low light image. Replaced my 650G. Add a Back-up battery pack for Parking Mode and you're Golden.

Any recommendation for a good install place for Thinkware U1000?

I've been going to the same guy at Visions for 15 years and have never had a problem. He's done 20+ cars for me in that time. And he was recommended to me from Beyond

Comparing them to Canadian Tire is hilarious.

For anyone mounting the camera make sure the lens is not in the dirty spot of the windshield I mounted mine high up behind the rear view mirror and just realized yesterday over half the screen is just a blurry mess from the dirt on the windshield.
I was on deerfoot and saw a massive sheet of ice fly off a semi and it didnt look like it hit anyone because traffic just continued. Within about 15 seconds i see a car doing about 90km/hr with its hazards on so i figure it got hit. I catch up to it and look over and her windshield is fucked but she just kept driving. I lock the clip and figure i should have it all on recording and lucky me you cant see shit.

and I did not have the only say in the matter (most people just want it done ASAP and don't care about quality).

If anything we made a better decision because we had a consensus and were all on the same page.

Pulled the trigger on a new VIOFO A119 V3 Dash Cam 2K and was able to catch some interesting videos the first 2 days. Not bad performance during the day, night time leaves much to be desired.

Hopefully these examples will help everyone with choosing their next cam.
