I would agree. I'm not a mechanic by trade but over the years, there's always a level of machining needed to get stuff to fit, seal or power up properly.

Drilled and fluted rotors on my wife's highlander. Couldn't be happier. No more ODB shimmy shimmy. Fuck OEM. (unless it's my motorcycle)

Does OEM mean something different now? How do I buy Lexus branded parts from anyone other than a Lexus dealer? (Perhaps I've been living under a rock).
And assuming I can, why would I trust that they're not counterfeit?

*I would know more about this if I ever considered buying dealer branded parts... Which really hasn't happened.

Following on your Lexus example - I bought new brakes for my ISF. Brembo makes the OEM brakes for that car, so you can get the OEM part from anywhere that sells Brembo parts.

Brembo probably makes more than one part number that fits that application, so how do you know which is "OEM" and which is aftermarket? bigbraintime.gif.

Yep, I'm up to speed with that and I agree that's "OEM".
I'm just wondering if people are buying the Brembo brakes inside a box that says "Lexus" on it from a place like Rock Auto, etc.
