I'm looking at purchasing a white gold thin chain to hang a pendant on as a gift. I noticed that Costco has considerably cheaper prices for the same weight and length of other stores.
Is there a catch?

Cheap jewelry is best jewelry. In every case.

Small markup, smaller selection, volume purchasing, that's the catch. If it's cheaper and it's what you need, get it there. I watched a youtube video recently about the jewelry section and why you can buy a 100k wedding ring with your free food samples, and it's all legit. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Nothing wrong in purchasing from Costco as long as it's not from Walmart.

Totally legit, I've bought lots of jewelry from Costco and the selection is limited, but prices are great. You can't beat their return policy as I've returned bracelets, necklaces and also a 6500 ring after about a year with no problems.

Legit. I was shopping for my own wedding band and had my eye set on a simple Crown Ring one for ~$1500. Ended up with ordering from Costco online for a very similar design for $900 and the waybill says the ring was shipped from Crown Ring

lol, my life is way too boring for that. It was a anniversary gift that she picked but ended up not liking the style so we returned it and got something else. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

You're a better man than me. If my significant other wanted a 6500 anniversary ring I'd put it toward the divorce lawyer.

I say stupid shit all the time.
I may overplay the "I'm poor" card here, but holee fuq, my wifes engagement rig, wedding band, my wedding band, and the replacement for my wedding band, didn't come to $6500 all put together. Probabyl can add in all the aniversay gifts I've given over 15 years of marriage and still not hit that total.

There's different ways to satisfy your partner. Fancy jewelry isn't one of the methods I use.
