I think the schooling is enough. Bringing that up to me is akin to screwing with his family.

CBC reported it as such. Not sure if other outlets are changing the story.

But this is internal, someone inside wants him gone and going to the media with it.
I think there's been a building swell of opposition against Scheer since even before the election. A lot of party insiders see him as a lame duck that can't beat JT even when he's blackfaced. I think CPC needs a change up top to have a chance to win the next election and it now they've got their chance.

A bunch of MPs from the west will want to hire someone from the East as leader?

    I dunno.

One only hope is to have a corrupt quebecer run.

West is blue no matter what. Liberals are idiots. Now corrupt quebecers, them we can persuade.

It's not east/west, it's someone with no moral objection (especially history of it) to abortion/gays.

Or moral objection of corruption in favour of Quebec’s interests

There’s no way they’d report that if it wasn’t.

CPC is already saying it's false.

whatever the scandal is, its there, and its big... Scheer is too arrogant and greedy to step down for the good of the party.

I like McKay, but Ambrose or Rempel would be good too. Would also help capture some women votes I think
    Rempel is too stupid.

I truly wonder why you stay, it seems there are no upsides for you.
What are the other options? Get rich and leave, that's about it. And the steaming pile of shit government is sure trying to make it harder than ever to get rich in the first place.

I'm just waiting for Peter MacKay to swoop in with his Jim Prentice style "And watching from afar, I was as disappointed and as frustrated as anyone. I wasn't at the table when those decisions were made, but I am at the table now." speech.

I heard Brad Wall is learning french, where do I place my bets?

Anyone thinking Rempel or Ambrose could lead the Conservatives to victory is insane. The Cons need someone closer to center on the political spectrum, someone with charisma. Rempel is way too hardcore "THEY TOOK R JOBS N GUNS" for anywhere outside of Alberta/Saskatchewan.

I think you're forgetting that people on the left don't really care about policy. They care about moral high ground and social justice. Having a female leader that can speak with confidence is a big visual aide in swinging these voters.

This is where I don't understand the PCs. There seems to be this fear of 'alienating their base' if they get someone who is pro-choice and pro-LGBTQ.... but its not like their base is going to suddenly vote green, ndp or liberal instead of PC.. it makes no sense to me

They need a charismatic lady leader if they want to pull JTs 'good look' voters..

Well if they abandon the socially conservative aspect would it not give rise to another party and split their base? Aka wildrose?

how'd that go for Maxime..? I dont think they need to 'abandon' the socially conservative, but they cant have a leader that during the leaders debate quite directly states that he's pro-life, regardless that he wont change the law. That would directly lose votes

This is exactly what I said leading up to the federal election. They were so concerned with rallying their base, that they forgot to attract any voters from the other side.

It seems insane that we have to worry about splitting the right in 2, when the left is already split 3 ways.

I strongly doubt that social conservatives would start a separate party at this point. I would be curious to see what % claim they are socially conservative.

What this country needs is a fiscally conservative party with progressive social views. This is the liberal party of the 1990's, there is no one holding this space, and there is a really large opportunity to fill that void. The kind of reckless spending (which is the only reason we don't notice the shrinking GDP in the private sector) is exactly what brought us into needing the GST.

I'm surprised the Libertarian party hasn't really sprung up in numbers at all being that is what most people identify with.
