Gun debate, throw in some abortion, add some covid. Baby, you've got a stew going.
Did someone say aborted baby stew? Democrats are salivating.

To get this thread back on track, shooter was brown-ish (hispanic) and the word is the cops chased him after he murdered his mom (grandma?) INTO THE SCHOOL AND THEN BACKED OFF WHILE THE SHOOTER WAS INSIDE.

Holy fuck if that's true. The USA and Canada have both demonstrated its not the mass murderer that is the problem, its that our police are all fucking retarded.

As for the stupid gun control debate, these are outlier events. Just like there is no "safety zero", there is no society in which there are no mass shootings unless you take away every gun.

This is not possible, nor practical. About 1500 people per year die in the USA from mass shootings, which is 4 or more murders at once, INCLUDING GANG VIOLENCE.

This is a drop in the bucket of a country with almost 400mil people in it. It is a non-issue.

Is it awful? Yes. Is it tragic? Absolutely. Should changes be looked at that are easily implemented (psychos shouldn't own guns is a fairly moderate stance IMO).

Other than that? Life happens, the world isn't perfect, and we are dealing with some of the fringest of fringe cases for death.

Would love to learn more about the differences in societal pressure between Canada and US. Seems like an interesting topic.
    Any resources you'd recommend?
Honestly, if you think you are going to point at a book for an answer to that, I can't really say anything. For me it is all about interacting and talking with the people who live it everyday and using my own life experiences and common sense to formulate an opinion. It is obvious we disagree and no amount of internet gobbledegook is going to convince you of my world experience and ability to rationalize versus yours, but I hope at the very least I have left you with maybe a bit different possible way of considering these things as they cross your path in life, even if you still end up not grasping where I am coming from.

Is this sarcasm or just a really bad take?

The US is a completely failed state.

They are good at the propoganda, and only got to where they think they are through slavery, war and war profiteering, debt, and shady dealings.

But if you look at the state of it, the incarceration rate, the poverty and inequality, the lack of any accountability for elites, the crime, gun violence. Addiction, They can't even provide healthcare , you can gp bankrupt simply by getting sick, and they barely manage third world education quality.

But hey, you can make payments on a house, 2 cars, an atv, your electronics, appliances, hell, even software is now permanently financed. Oh, and you can finance your gun.

The US is set up to serve a very small number of globalist elites.

I think a supporting role would be more appropriate than a leading one for men in terms of this specific issue.

I think that is very fair... Never should anyone be excluded from the conversation, but I certainly believe the most major player in the scene deserves the most sway.

Has our mayor chimed in yet? I feel like this is calling for her to chime in.

You would value the opinion of a dumb woman over a smart man?

Does having a uterus make one smarter? Are women born with a superior knowledge of reproductive biology?

Why assume a dumb woman would lead the discussion?

I think men tend to end up leading a lot of debates and policy because they speak louder and more aggressively, and I think in general that leads to poor outcomes for society. I think the average woman has more to contribute to this topic than the average man. And on average, I think all people are average.

You should judge an idea on its merits, not the composition of the chromosomes of the person who uttered the idea.

I don't know about men speaking louder and more aggressively, but most of the law makers and public offices are disproportionately comprised of men.

Yeah, she beaked off on Twitter. Ironically about it being past due to hold elected leaders to account for inaction, just not hers
