    @jwslam

According to the Amazon rep, there was a mixup on inventory. They shipped me a USBC to HDMI+VGA, not the 10 port hub.
Ended up getting a refund and keep the item, but since it wasn't sold & shipped by Amazon, they couldn't get me a exchange.

Was playing poker with my VP last night when someone asked him if he could WFH permanently 1 day a week. The answer was sure in exchange for 80% salary

I was on 20% pay cut for almost two years and it started off as every Friday off and then the owner after 3 months said this isn't working out for me. You are all required to come back to the office 5 days a week with your 20% pay cut and if you do not like feel free to leave lol.

Here I am now still on 20% pay cut but working from home aka doing home projects which is great. Have to go back to the office June 1st but it sucks as I am the only one with no kids in that office so every one likely will pull the "I don't have day care or school for my kids so I need to stay home" BS. (I use the term BS as they have older kids that can baby sit or stay at home spouses).

There was a blurb on the radio this morning about how a lot of businesses will start giving this option.

All I could think of was "What's stopping them from outsourcing at that point?"
Yupp, a lot of people who are currently doing WFH should be very mindful that if they can do their work from home then there's the very real possibility that someone else can do remotely as well and cheaper at that. So what do you bring to the equation tart makes you more valuable.

Sometimes WFH can only happen efficiently after a certain period being there and getting that specific experience. But if someone can work remotely efficiently from day 1, then yes you are fucked.

Language barriers and hours are a real issue... then you have regulations. Unless you’re talking about within our borders which is a mute point as that’s currently a possibility but experience and education are limiting barriers to entry regardless of where the fuck you’re working from

Did you talk to a rep or did you just go through the selfserve options?

Self-serve. I've had that thing tell me not to ship previously. I save the chat system for requesting free months prime membership.

According to the Amazon rep, there was a mixup on inventory. They shipped me a USBC to HDMI+VGA, not the 10 port hub.
Ended up getting a refund and keep the item, but since it wasn't sold & shipped by Amazon, they couldn't get me a exchange.
Got the same wrong item (usb-C to HDM+VGA).

going to try online chat now to see if they will refund.

EDIT: did a live chat. At first he offered me free return shipping back to get a full refund. I then said it's a major annoyance to print out, go to post office, etc. Then he offered a $5 credit and keep the item. Asked for a month or two of prime instead, he offered one month so just went with that. I pay $80 a year so this works out a 6.50 credit.

Also asked them to put in a formal complaint about this seller...i have a feeling they did this bait&switch on purpose expecting most people not to notice they sent the cheaper item instead of the hub or not bother with the effort of returning .

This happened to me too but I took it a step further.

The item was not available by the same seller any longer. The same item was for sale for $55. So they gave me $45 credit to buy it for the price I originally intended to.
