if you want to kill weeds, don't just use solvents, use proper herbicide. There are lots that will kill those.
Actually, if you are pouring random solvents on yoru lawn, I assume you don't care if it kills the grass, so just go with round-up and be done with it. Or an agressively concentrated mix of parIII.

The blue stand up weed puller; makes a 2"ish cup around the head.
This one just happened to come up without breaking. Most of them broke at around the depth of the weed puller.

Yeah, that is pretty typical bro. Plants are like icebergs and ExtraSlow; you don't know what's lurking underneath and it's complete fascinating.

I hate how fast dandelions grow though. I can use a weed puller to clear my lawn and the next day there will be a yellow flower there that I somehow missed

Old thread, is curtail still a thing, the weed killer I have works on part of the lawn but not on other parts
I mowed and sprayed the cut bases but that didn't seem to do anything
