BF Goodrich K02 All-Terrains on a daily driver?

i'm debating on whether i want to run studded winters this year as well. i sold my stock hankooks and my last winters from my 2014 didn't perform very well so i sold them too.

the General Grabber X3 i'm running now definitely won't cut it for winter.

Running KO2s on my 16 f150, love the way they ride, suck up a ton of washboard on BC FSRs and good winter grip.

Did any of you guys running the K02 have issues with balancing? I'm looking at getting a set for my new Ram to avoid using the Wranglers that came with it in the winter, and opinions seem to vary greatly on these tires.

Its just the stock Wrangler SRA tires that come stock on Rams. 275/60r20 size

I was going to order them through Costco. I'm also up in Edmonton so maybe have to explore mounting options away from Costco

Yeah, the sra is garbage in snow or gravel. Good summer highway tire though.

Yea it rides pretty good now, but all I've heard is horror stories once the snow hits haha

No issues with balancing. I bought from a GM dealer in Calgary who price matched Costco. That way going back for a re-balance was covered. I never needed it. I'm at 50,000kms with no issues

My sra's handled their first and second winter alright. No problem stopping. Once or twice I had to engage 4wd to get moving with not weight in back.

Those Michelin defenders look pretty good too.

+1 for Michelin LTX M/S. Run them all year with no problems.
Good grip all year and I'd guess around 50k/set lifespan on a 03 Duramax.

Are you guys getting a huge mpg drop running the KO2's? I've read that ice traction is poor for a snowflake rated tire.

It is normal to experience a decrease in mileage when you get new tires. Also, some trucks come with tires that have a lower rolling resistance. I am pretty sure that the wranger sra are a lower rolling resistance then the KO2.

Honestly, ice traction on the KO2 is probably the best that I have experienced other then a dedicated winter tire like the nokian. Way better ice traction on the KO2 vs the duratrac.

Edit: Many people swear by the michelin for snow and ice traction so that may be the best, I have no experience with that tire. I have used Wrangler SRA, Open Country AT, Hakkapeliitta LT, Duratrac and now the KO2.

The LT K02's will hurt your MPG. I lost 1-2mpg. It's due to the weight of the tire. The other side of an LT tire is that they are much stronger. I've hit a few semi tire treads at hwy speed here in Houston and the tires haven't blown out. Also ran over the whole front clip/rad of an F150 that was being flat towed after an accident. No damage to tires after hitting the rad and headlights flush. Ice traction is between an all-season and a dedicated snow tire. I think they are as good as it gets for an AT tire

Had a set of michelin defender ltx m/s installed today on my silverado. Only put 50km on them but they seemed to be smoother and quieter than my old wrangler sr-a's. Will report back on how they do this winter as I will be running them year round.

They're actually pretty decent in the winter. I was just disappointed with how fast they wore out on a 3/4 ton diesel.

Good to know, I’ll avoid them for my Duramax. I’m really unimpressed with how my Grabber A/TX are wearing.

Yeah, I don't know what to get next. Overall, I wasn't a fan of the Duratracs that came with the truck but they were the best wearing tires I've had on it so far.

I personally don’t like Duratracs at all but seems to be where I’m heading next.
