Default Notice of Conviction - no original ticket ever sent.

So I received a ticket for my father in law who has been dead for 18 months now. For my MIL car somehow the registration is still jointly held in his name even though we specifically requested it to only be in her name. I suspect that my wife was driving the car because I was out of the country and my MIL didnt have a license at the time.

We never received the original ticket which was dated Aug 31st 2018. We only received this Notice of conviction while we were away on holiday the Act and Charge was TSA(1) which I think is a speed camera trap. Anyway I put the ticket into the system to pay the now $141 and it says ticket not found. I dont know whether to enquire about it further. Its on my father in law's license which doesnt exist because we surrended it to the registry when he died. I dont know if between December 20th when they mailed this and January 5th that they would of cross referenced databases and discovered he doesnt exist.

Considering the history, my bet is MIL still drove, and got a ticket and threw it in the garbage.

We have been forwarding all their mail to our house since July 1 the only thing I can think is they forgot to send the original ticket due to the postal strike. On the ticket it says that they stopped sending all tickets between sept 20-Dec 5

They were using couriers and not Canada post during the strike. Basically delivered to your door, and easily thrown out thinking it’s junk mail. Lots of people complaining about it on the news last week.

Probably blew away then. Still not sure if I should just ignore this considering it says not found on the fines website. If a car is registered in 2 names how come they only send the ticket to the first named person?

Yes, and it's annoying as fuck. Both of us are on all of our vehicles, and making any changes requires both of us to be there.

I can't wait till next time I renew registration because of this. We finally got insurance figured out so that either one of us can request info/changes.

Does the ticket start with A or B?

All tickets will have a case number. It will start with A, B or E, followed by numbers and a final letter. What is the first letter it starts with? If it is past due, it may also start with JA, JB or JE
**Edit - sorry, my gov brain is still on.

NEVER put two people on as registered owner... Seems like an innocent idea at the time, causes nothing but headaches.

Ok - so it has nothing to do with the deceased. The ticket is for a photo radar and the ticket will go "Attn: xxxxxx." That person is the first person listed on the registration. If he is still listed, that's why it's showing up at the house in his name.
