    Bumping.

Been on the lookout for a new atv. Don't need anything too big. Models I'm looking at are mid-size, somewhere around 600cc. 4x4 for trail riding as that is what it will be mostly used for. Currently doing research but leaning towards a Grizzly EPS SE or Outlander XT 570. Both come with factory installed winches... Also a must.

    Anyone have any other recommendations?

I'm leaning towards the Grizzly. Seems solid from the research I've done.

Can I assume the statement from the boat world carries over - no one ever complains about too much motor

Have you looked into the Rubicon? Parents have a pair of them for the farm and they have been indestructible. Prior to that we had some Foreman models, same result, never once quit on us. If it were my money I'd go Honda or Yamaha, both have EPS. Personally have not owned the Can-am, but I've seen plenty broken on the trails, although they were the 1000cc variant, and I'm told they have too much power from factory for the driveline.

Yes I have. I'm a Honda fanboy. I took a look into the Rubi but found a thread on the ATV forums with some guys who are having problems with the gearbox. This is on the 2020/21 models. They have been fighting with Honda Canada for a fix since buying them. Think I read somewhere about someone wanting a class action or something. Also complaints of being underpowered. Not saying I'd have problems if I got one but my research shows the Grizz as still being the tried and true winner. Brother has a Can-Am and hasn't had problems tho.

Best thing I ever saw from a Grizz was out west last year. Was out with a group and the owner of a Grizzly rolled it two times in one day. We flipped it back over and she fired right up every time and we carried on. He rides that thing super hard.

Biggest thing is inventory right now. Can-Am seems available but the Grizzly SE seems rare.

Oh shit, can't say I heard that but good to know. Haven't rode the new Grizzly but I bought a 2000MY one when they came out originally, thing was tough as nails. I love the look of the Can-Am the best by far, just seen a few issues but again that was only the 1000cc models, snapping axle's, tie rods etc. Looks like Argyll has some Grizz models advertised, not sure what is left.

I had a Honda Rincon 2015 that I absolutely loved. It's sad to hear the hondas having issues. If they had a bigger CC machine i'd go honda. I'll probably buy the can am in mid summer once I figure out my shit.

Can you give me some advice on what brand of ATV Mud tires and wheels should I get for my 2016 Honda Rancher?

Rolled my new Grizz backwards end over end down a steep slope on the weekend. Tried to recover but no luck. Went vertical, knew it was all over and prepared to bail. Held on and used my left leg to catch the ground as I went over, pushed myself off the slope to try and clear the now, out of control, falling quad. I landed near the bottom of the slope in the rocks and logs, magically missing the soft mud lol. Heard the quad crashing and banging as it rolled and I just got the fuck up and out of there as I didn't want to get hit by it. Wife was losing her shit but had front row seats to the action as she was on her own ATV behind me.

The Grizz landed upright in amongst the logs and bush off to the side of the trail, still running. Would have been a major nightmare to get it out had it landed upside down. The front rack got bent and the force of the impact slammed it backwards towards the handlebars, pushing the plastics with it.

Still runs and drives fine. Needs new front plastics and a new front rack and left brake lever. I'll get on that in the fall/winter probably.

    Forgot to update this thread.

I dropped my Grizzly off at the local Cycle Works to get repaired from my rollover last summer. Dropped it off at end of the September '21 and just got it back today. Yes, today...

Backordered parts for rec vehicles are a real bitch.
