You interested in the DT club or just the golf course?
I say just, despite the fact that you can’t join the golf course without being a member of the DT club and being subject to that waitlist and the initiation fees.
They currently have a program to accelerate you through the waitlist a bit if you are willing to join the golf course however ( I guess they are hurting for members).
The courses are very nice, pretty top notch for Calgary, but they are pretty hell and gone far away which has always been a pretty huge detractor for me.

You are only required to be a social member at the Downtown club, one time fee.
I live 10min from the golf course.
Arguably one of the best practice facilities in town, and supposed to have a great juniors program. Wife and I have been poking around (I am sure you have all the numbers) but haven't committed yet. Calgary and the lack of equity memberships drives me nuts.
That is my main reason for getting a membership, for the junior program for my son. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Glencoe Golf Club is a non equity membership as well.
Not a member but play there a few times a year. Fantastic courses.
Just tell people you are a member. Nobody will know the difference.
Pinebrook has a decent junior program (we have a few members/kids every year that get scholarships to play college golf in the US), and it's closer to town. And has equity shares. The downside is obviously the facilities aren't as nice, and there are only 18 holes instead of 36. Major upside is you don't have to interact with the Glencoe members
Greasy fuckers

I thought about Pinebrook but the equity membership is damn near as much as the Glencoe buy-in now.
And the clubhouse is no where near as nice.
I have a handful of friends/colleagues that are members and have also played there a bunch of times. As previously mentioned, the courses (2.5) and the practice facilities are fantastic. The food is good/great, I personally really like the fish tacos. If distance to course is not an issue for you, it would be worthwhile to consider. A couple more things I would want to learn more about before signing would be additional costs for locker rental, storage/cleaning for clubs and other equipment, and golf cart fees. Make sure to send out a Beyond invite when you're all set up.

I have nothing else to add.
I have no complaints about the facilities at that golf course or at the club in town.

Are you asking if you can just be a member of the Golf club?
No, you have to be a member at both the downtown club and the golf/country club.
