IMO it was a shit red flag call that broke the race, should have been an easy Mercedes 1-2.

I am just pissed that Max keeps getting away while acting like a hooligan without getting any real consequences to his dangerous actions. Way to tell him it's okay for him to keep acting like that. Wouldn't put him DNF'ing himself and Lewis at the final race just so he can have the WDC based on the number of wins.

That's the way the sport works.

They did it with Schumi, they did it with Lewis, they did it with Max.

Seems like Reddit is changing their tune on Max. Palmer's comments are spot on.

I try not to read comments on Reddit, and I’ve noticed the same on AS forums last night. Guess he went really overboard this race haha.

I'm new to watching F1 (4 race veteran!) and even I've noticed how reckless Max is out there.

I don't know much about Hamilton aside from his talent, but I find myself rooting for him due to Max's stupidity.

He seems like an angry, entitled toddler.

Funny, that's why I stopped cheering for Hamilton. He's smartened up quite a bit over the last few years, but as someone who started watching at the start of the turbo era, Hamilton always rubbed me the wrong way when things didn't go how he wanted. I'm not necessarily pro-Max, I'm pro-changing the status Quo. Ricciardo is still my boy, even if he's too careful on track.

I can’t look at Max’s face and not come to the conclusion he’s a toddler.

To Interrupt this Regularly Scheduled Race Drama Debate - can anyone recommend good historic races from Circuito de Barcelona-Cataluņa?

I just bought flights for the 2022 race weekend and want to watch a couple old races from there before choosing the grandstand. I know it's not a loved track but there must be a couple bangers from there over the years.

My sentiments exactly. Truth be told I did buy a #33 hat (non-flat brim) a while ago but I took it off half way through the race and don't know that I'll put it back on again.

That seems to be the general sentiment that I'm seeing on the Internet. No doubt that VER is a talented driver, but people seem to be reaching a limit with the way that he has driven because he has shown a willingness to get into situations where he and HAM could DNF because he has everything to gain if neither of them finish. It's a nice perk of having more GP wins.

Having said that, there is also a growing discontent for the, to use their word, whinging that seems to accompany every incident from all sides. Whether it's whinging about "letting them race", flexing wings, practice starts and big safety car gaps, it's starting to feel like the WDC is going to get decided via litigation than actual racing, as becoming a matter of technicalities and interpretation of the rules.

That's probably a function of youth and experience. The young upstart is the guy upsetting the status quo and generally has more to gain by driving with more aggression. As people get older, they get wiser and have more to lose, so to speak, and so they typically become more conservative (or at least more situationally aware).

Grandstand 1 is pretty good. That's where I'd like to be.
Weird that the F1 Ticket store had the Canadian GP tickets on sale this morning, but GP Canada says it's going to go on sale on the 12th. Hope I get good seats.

For the record, I still believe Max is going to take the championship this year. Abu Dhabi is going to be a close race between the 2 teams. RBR has had advantages on fast tracks when the tires suit them. The tire choices for the finale are the softest range of tires. Mercedes should be struggling on race pace, and much closer to RBR because they only excel on the harder compounds. It’ll be decided on strategy (which Merc hasn’t been great at this year), and track position (Max probably edges Hamilton on pure qualifying pace, RBR well ahead on pit stop times). Of course if an on track pass is necessary, It’s going to be a collision. Hamilton won’t have the pace to make easy passes whenever Mercedes struggles on race pace/tires, nor will he be able to break the tow if he has track position.

I have a #3 RBR hat. Not flat brimmed.
I also have the RBR limited edition China hat, and the Mercedes limited edition Japan hat.
