Default 2020 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix

The 16th race in F1 this year. Yes... you heard that right...16th Race. 16 races and I still have not subscribed to F1 TV. The cheapness of the mighty Tony Tiger knows no bounds.

While the world toils and continues with its battle with the Corona Virus, F1 must race on.

Qualifying has been interesting. Williams have show they are a mighty match for Ferrari. Lord George Russell showed us what a fantastic driver he really is by qualfiying ahead of Vettel. Bottas is trying to show the world that he is still relevant.
Pierre Gasly has impressed us all by qualifying 4th in his Civic.
Verstappen has a bit of a engine scare. Who wants to make a bet that his engine will blow up during the race.....?

Usually races run when TSN’s 4K channel isn’t otherwise occupied anyway so should be very doable

Legendary track. Should be an interesting race with less practice sessions

Predicted absolutely nothing happening. Guess going in with that low expectations this race ain’t bad with all the random shit haha.

Is Cyril going to get a 2nd tattoo or what?

Edit - confirmed immediately by Cyril it’s a no.

At first I thought Bottas was slowing down to let HAM skip both him and Verstappen, but then it was apparent his pace just wasnt there. I feel terrible for verstappen given that was a completely unlucky puncture. Ham got SO lucky with that VSC too.

Also, boos to TSN for going to commercial at such awful times. I get that they werent able to predict the verstappen puncture but at least pull an audible and go back to the race!!! Most exciting part of the race ruined over commercials.

Edit: Forgot to mention the return of the SHOEY!!!

Bottas has literally the opposite luck of Ham - there is more going on here than just pure chance.

Kimi - made it into 6th again for a bit, haha - old man raikkoken also had a backhanded slap on ferrari team behaviour as well when he was asked about his new contract - something to the extent of 'this (alpha romeo) team is about actions, rather than just words' - presumably referring to getting things done rather than just lip service and platitudes at ferrari.

I was watching all the lap timings live, Hamilton at the point of the VSC was already ahead of the pit window (assuming clean stop). Stopping without VSC would have put him 1.5s ahead. He was in traffic and knocking off 3/10s a lap away from Bottas. In clean air, over 1/2 second a lap. Passing Bottas was inevitable, the VSC just made it happen earlier.

But ya, that VSC looked oddly suspicious lol.

If Kimi waited a little more to pit under SC, would’ve been different. His lap times didn’t look that bad.

I couldn't watch the race live because early. Watching it on delay I couldn't resist just skipping forward by chunks oncw you could see where things where headed.

F1 has a real problem... I hope the new regs help.

    Oh Poor Bottas...
I mad a typo in my first post about Max's engine. I meant his tires. I kinda feel sorry for him. What cause his tire to pop? Miss management?

Oh poor George Russell. I think if he did not make that mistake, im sure we would have seen a different result through the butterfly effect. LOL

I spoiled the third place before I watched so I knew some action was coming, but that last 1/4 was excellent.
Hamilton though, that VSC, it is like he controls it from his car
Sucked for kimi though, another couple of laps and he might have had fourth. Seb though, must have given bottas that endplate with the mag contact that they never showed. He sure paid for it with that pit stop though. Gasly though, that sucked but great work by Kvyat,

The only thing to add was George Russell was in the points until he fucking binned it with cold tires. Mr Saturday continues.

This track is a huge exception. I rewatched several old races here and they were even more boring. Even with refueling, lighter much faster cars could not get by.

It’s hilarious that the drivers loved it. It’s apparently a really fun track to drive. Just not pass.

I was more referring to the MB dominance for, oh, a decade or so.

Can’t really fix that unless they quit. Or if others teams step up.

Mercedes have dominated through multiple rule changes.

Every other sport had reasonable mechanisms for ensuring that competitive balance is a priority. F1 hasn't figured that out yet.

Isn’t Mercedes quitting to go Elecric only?
