Took the wife's Escape out today on studded Goodyear WinterCommands and ripped it up! Pushing snow with the bumper no problem. Surprises me how well that little SUV works in snow. Good winter tires definitely help!

Last two days reminds me of this classic footage taken by Carl Weathers several years ago.
An agonizing, but hilarious 4 minutes from Edmonton.
I was tootling down Marda loop in my batmobile today.
I saw a guy in his new Hyundai struggling to pull out from a side road. His wheels were spinning like mad in the snow. He was huffing and puffing.. His eyes were bulging and his face was red. He had a intense strain on his face. The kind one has has when facing the ungodly constipation from eating too many meat pies from the night before.
I cruised past him in my mechanical wonder. As he watched me fly past. He must have looked at my vehicle and thought 'What is this great archaeological wonder that defies the laws of physics in the snow...?'.
It made me wonder.... people will pay over $30k for a new suv.. but not spend $600 on a decent set of winters.... That is the thought of the day..
Agree with your last statement (most people still think all season includes winter), but just to add, it amazes me that people can get THAT upset (as you describe) over something like that. If he had somewhere important to be today he would have dug himself out yesterday. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Winter tires do nothing in deep snow though, I just dug someone out with good winter tires at the end of the street. Doesn't matter how soft the tire is at that point, you aren't getting out without help or 4WD + chains.
1.5 - 2 inches? Yikes! Sounds serious! This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Because you can't finance 600 dollar winter tires over 96 monthsThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Yeah but you can get those $600 winter tires from the dealership thrown onto your payments for only an extra $25 a month! This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
It gives me joy burying lazy neighbors; don’t just watch me smoking weed
I remember the year that skyview and whatnot got snowed in, they had a canadian newcomer complaining about not being able to get out and then switched to him just flooring it to get out. Hilarious. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
definitely had it worse - I think it was 2009 when McIvor road SE was totally shut down (blizzard) and cars/trucks were buried in drifts - the city had to bring in the airport rotary snow throwing equipment in

My package has been under processed in Surrey for over a week without an update. Does that mean its still stuck in BC? Gifts & packages not arriving in time for Xmas is very fitting for 2020.

Those cars haven’t moved in a year plus I was the only one clearing the cul de sac
I spent an hour this morning, and another hour this afternoon, moving snow from the intersection of my street onto the grass or at least out of the driving lanes. Good enough now that awd cars don't get stuck, but fwd cars still do. I'm sick of pushing people out.
