With all the variant talk going around, and the likelihood of covid becoming seasonal, anyone else taking bets on the mask laws becoming seasonal?

With respect to the NFL here is the actual CDC article:

    https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/70/wr/mm7004e2.htm

I am always looking for ways to mitigate potential transmission events at work, so seeing the effectiveness of their enhanced protocols in reducing onward transmission, I have a better understanding of how we can try to accomplish this. Namely, universal usage of medical grade masks, staggering lunch hours or closing communal eating areas are areas of improvement. It’s not realistic for routine 6 day testing or the use of the Kinexon proximity devices for workplaces, but their data does give an idea of where the high risk interactions are.
The funny part is people think NFL low infection rate = "COVID is a lie" without understanding they actually goes way beyond the lock down we are experiencing right now in some ways to get there.

Too many unknowns. If I'm a betting man, I'll bet mask on planes will be a forever norm going forward.

My concern is calgary city council having that bylaw at their hands, see: life vests on elbow river, all school zones as playground zones, all playground signs in effect to 9pm year round, continual push for 30 km/h speed limit, the ongoing fluoride debacle, etc.

I don't see they can hold the line on this one if the world got better to the point that masks starts to come off.

As what bar do you set on this would be up for argument.

It took AB gov a full year to give us an objective lock down meter based on hospitalization.

The masks will never come off. That BS has long sailed. Double masking might even come to play.

Here is AHS playing games with stats again - the actual orange chart (non ICU) is ON TOP OF ICU cases - and its own comparison tool shows this. Form a quick glance though, its made to look worse. Attachment 97370

Regardless, we are down to 450 total hospital cases but the government will wait at least 3-4 weeks after this to open anything up. Another month of no gyms/dining etc.

I love wearing a mask, especially in the winter, keeps me warmer....also, it's awesome not having to worry about making small talk with ANYONE when I just want to grab some groceries.

I do miss playing hockey though...but if we DO become communist there's always a chance I'll get called to play for the army team.

Glasses plus full time mask = suicidal thoughts.

450 hospital cases in a population of 4.4 million. Pandemic indeed.

Yeah I had to switch over to contacts so I could see well enough to drive. I'd just take my mask off and wear my glasses if it was me by myself, but it's all masks all the time when someone else is in the vehicle.

I remember as a kid watching my dad take his contacts out for the first time and I was moritified.

Thought he pulled his eye out.
I can still barely put in eye drops to this day.

Contacts are 100% necessary for any kind of sports or in today’s terms, mask wearing. I wore glasses and it was fog city with a mask in about 5 seconds.

Yeah you spend your whole life trying not to jam shit in your eyes. Once you get past that and work out a technique for getting them in and out easily, there's fuck all to that part of it. I'm popping them in and out like a fiddler's elbow now.

I can do it, but they put me on my ass after 4-5 hours. Bizarre as it sounds, they make me insanely tired.

0 chance of making it through a work day with them.

Only time I wear them is on a boat.

I was like that too to start with. I don't know if it's the contacts themselves, or if glasses have some UV protection that your eyes are used to and when that protection isn't there they get all tuckered out.

Being a man is hard, and yet, you and I persevere.

That reminds me - have you heard about the new Hyundai Palisade?

Then they should have called the NON ICU portion, TOTAL HOSPITALIZATIONS.

If the ICU representation is accurate, why fuck up the NON ICU representation?
Why would you fuck up the fact that restaurants are opening tomorrow??!

    • Maximum of 6 people per table – individuals must be from the same household or the 2 close contacts for a person living alone

I knew having more than 4 kids would be an inconvenience.
