It mentioned that her ex husband was running her campaign. Maybe he didn't like her side d*ck and decided to clone him. Shrugs.

Just sounds like an Ashley Madison gone wrong on her end.

Funny article to end the night with. Attack misinformation in this election, then spread misinformation in the article.

    https://globalnews.ca/news/3804791/m...ivic-election/

Lori Williams with Mount Royal University’s political science department is frustrated with the amount of inaccurate information that was involved in the campaign this year.

Some of the inaccurate claims in the campaign according to Williams have been about property tax increases in Calgary, adding that the increases weren’t about the rate of tax that was approved by council, but because of property value increasing significantly.
Someone needs to school this prof on how property taxes work here in YYC. I guess that’s why she teaches at MRU and not UofC haha.

Regardless if it's true or not, just say it anyways because it'll stick with some people.

To be fair, both sides stretched the truth on property taxes. Smith quoting absolute values for increase, and Nenshi quoting some weird math of adding inflation to population growth. He also try to spin it by showing operating expenses staying flat, and completely ignoring capital expenditures that has grown. The truth is somewhere in the middle.

    Politicians gonna politics.

Big talk from the guy who didn't realize where more than half the city's property tax came from.

I'm guessing you're referring to the whole suburbs subsidizing inner city thread we had there? I have a clear understanding, the problem is that the city refuses to break down the non res property tax data so there's no way to use it in the calculations while you assumed all of it should go into "inner city" if I remember right. I'm still waiting for the breakdown report from the COC Corporate Analytics and Innovation Business Unit that they promised me. Maybe you can help get that data to continue that discussion haha. They don't do emails, have no phone access aside from lodging a request through 311. I have some time here and there for internet debates, but not THAT much time.

I sill think Nenshi is going to eek out a narrow win tonight. At least with that thinking I won’t be disappointed haha.

I did notice yesterday in Coral Springs where Nenshi loves, there’s a huge number of Bill Smith signs. Was almost 100% Nenshi when I was there last month.

The narrative has always been that you, as an inner city HOME OWNER, was responsible for, not just the majority of property tax revenue, but the vast majority of it.

This has never been true. It will never be true.

Of course business property tax paid for a lot. Not "more than half though". Gee, don't you think a finished retail space anywhere in the city will be assessed higher on a sq ft basis than your old rotting shithole of a house?

I can't believe how close this pole is haha.

Wondering why the pole is closed though, shouldn't we leave it open until 8pm?

We lost control and visibility of the poll when the threads got merged unfortunately, vB bug. The OP that made the poll set today as the close date so that's it. Let's see how accurate we are this round!

Small line up for mine, but slower than fuck because about 25% of the voters didn't have a pre-filled card, so they had to be hand written in.

A vote for Nenshi is just like a vote for Notley or Trudeau

"And if he is denied a third term, Nenshi will have fallen not only because of his growing reputation for arrogance, but because the local electorate had already turned on Notley and Trudeau, and wanted to thwack the nearest thing they could find."
