Default Independent BMW shops in Calgary

New to this forum, just bought a 2009 z4 a month ago with no service history!! Looking for a recommendation on good BMW shops to go through the car and see where it stands on fluid changes and general health etc. This is my first BMW so I have no experience with any of them. I am a past Porsche owner and would definitely stay away from the dealer. Any help appreciated.

Never been there myself but a lot of BMW guys seem to like Sheni's. If I ever need to take mine in for something that's probably where I will go.

These guys have buncha bimmers parked outside. Worth a call, they sound like specialists.

Thanks guys, I have heard good things about Sheni's but a friend of mine got burned on a PPi there so out of loyalty I am leary of using them.

I used Sheni’s back in the day and overall I’d give them a 8/10 it wasn’t a small job either, it was a head gasket problem that never fully went away. I have co workers that used Vitek’s before and swear by him.

I take mine to Sheni's. I used to take it to Motorwerks, but they seem to always try and upsell me on services that weren't really important (IMHO). Last time I was at Sheni's, they told me that my fog light lens was broken and needed replacement ($600), but were fine with me not doing it.

Vitek's Autoworks and Alpine Autowerks are two great shops that work on BMWs.

I've used Vitek and also used HD Motors (Steve, the owner, is really good with Euro cars) in Inglewood and was happy with both of them. Friends have used Alpine, Riegal and Sheni's and also happy. There are definitely very good options in town vs the dealer.

I've used Alpine for over 15 years for my Porsche and they are excellent. Just wanted to get a take on more BMW oriented shops. Any opinions on Motorwerks?

    I'd take it to Vitek.

I’ve used Motorwerkes, Shenis and Vitek for my bmws over the last 10 years. Shenis is the best of the 3 imo, but I’d take my BMWs to any of them.

Alpine Autowerks took care of my BMW and Porsche when I had them. They are excellent and honest, no prob ever and guarantee their work.

Yeah well I wonder how they get the soft flowing caramel inside the Caramilk bar but you don't see me making a god damn thread about it. Slap your wife Baygirl, straighten him out.

    Shenis is definitely more BMW.

I took my AMG there for a PPI and they got MOST everything figured out pretty good - except they missed the broken sunroof (common issue and the seller told me about it already and planned to fix on my own) - that would have been a easy 4-5000$ job for anyone else had they not known.

Shenis missed a $25 k engine job on a friends 5 series during a PPi, he was in Vancouver and was depending on the shop to be his eye and ears, the seller had disclosed a misfire but didn't know the extent of the issue. I will give them a miss but I think I will go back to Alpine, I know Marc really well and I know them to honest and straightforward but very Porsche oriented. Thanks guys.
