That intersection is terrible for that. People speed away from the previous one, regardless of the fact that it's still within a school zone, and then drift across all the lanes into the turn lanes. And once you do turn, they always drift a lane wide.

Newer Jeep Cherokee burning a lot of oil. I was worried I was going to rear end the car in front as I couldn't see a thing for a few seconds.

To be fair that bike was pretty douchey too. Truck already verified no traffic and started the turn, while bike went max acceleration and cut off the truck that was supposed to yield. Then to teach the truck driver a lesson, slow right the fuck down. Doesn't excuse the truck driver behaviour afterwards but man if you're going to be a douche, you certainly deserve douche retribution.

Nope! Bike was waiting for a clearing in the traffic before proceeding. Truck hardly slowed down for the corner. Both are not clean in this though, but the truck was being the bigger douche.

I agree- no signal from the truck that it was turning right- when it entered the turning lane the bike went though the intersection as it should. No signal and no yield from the truck

As per usual, road rage events usually involve two dumb dumbs.

One motorist makes a mistake and the other motorist takes it personally and retaliates, and on it goes.

And as is the case here, one person at least has a mistaken view of the rules of the road. Yield =/= merge =/= free flow lane.

definitely not an example of defensive riding. No signal from the truck and then some serious douchebagery. But I will the truck driver the nod (in more than one way).

Bike could have easily saw the truck and adjusted to slow down a bit as it was turning left, but chose to douche it up.
Truck is just blind and didn't see the bike, as it would have been super clear if she yielded and looked.

You don't need to slow down for a yield.

    http://www.transportation.alberta.ca...Yield_Sign.pdf

The Yield sign indicates to drivers that they must yield the right-of-way, slow down or stop if necessary, before entering the intersection, roundabout or any other facility and must not proceed until it is safe to do so.
Slow down or stop if necessary. It was clear as the truck was entering. The bike just accelerated like a bike to get ahead of the truck. Honestly, if that was me in the truck, I dunno if I would've saw the bike. The bike made the turn once the truck was already fully committed into turning, then accelerated pretty fucking fast to be alongside the truck out of nowhere.

Both are douches. Bike for initiating with aggressive riding, then taunting the truck by slowing the fuck down. Truck for retaliation.
