lmao, low intensity, but not "heavy weightlifting". Are they going to setup PF style lunk alarms?
Also, good to see jutes still shitposting in this thread. It's hard to tell, since he's one of the few shitposters in here that hasn't turned red on rep yet.

One read of these restrictions, you can tell they have no clue wtf they're even doing. I don't even know if this is sad or comical. I'm surprised they didn't come out with dumbbell weight limits, or biceps size restrictions.

They’re trying to play both sides of the issue and probably think that it will work well for them politically. They’ll say they stuck to their time line by implementing “Step 2” today when talking with people who wanted things open, then turn around and say they restricted openings when talking with the ones who say it’s too early and we’re heading to a third wave.

All they’ll do is piss off both sides, create an environment of noncompliance (like restaurants right now) because the restrictions are vague and it’s up to operators to enforce and more people will start ignoring what restrictions remain in place when they see this as the government just pulling ideas out of a hat

Basically we are locked down until we are vaccinated. If the numbers arent low enough now, they won't be until July
Locked down? Where do you live?
Here in Calgary, we're free to do *almost* anything we want.

Even with 6 feet of separation it spreads like wildfire when it comes to cardio high intensity fitness classes...
Most of these classes utilized industrial fans for airflow.

Remove the fans, and it becomes much more contained. Regardless of exertion levels.

This has been my point. Alberta has not had any lockdowns yet.

    I got a better idea.
If your heart rates goes over 140 and it is not a 1 on 1 training session, your ass gets ejected out of the gym

People should just stop being such babies and wear masks indoor while exercising. It's really not that bad but people lose their shit over having a mask on their face when exercising for some reason.

“People should just get on with their lives instead of living in constant fear of a virus that likely will barely affect them”

See I can do that too...

*disclaimer- I’m not against masking, just pointing out the counter to your statement

Exactly. Weren't elevation masks a thing once?
Strap on a N95 and consider it a better workout. Besides, you'll adapt fast.

Yeah... I mean it's been the defacto standard in most climbing gym world wide since the start of the pandemic. Turns out you can perform just fine wearing masks and it sure seems like a small price to pay to keep the gyms open, the patrons healthy and the staff members safe.

What term would offend you less? That we are closed? Fully restricted? What are we opening up from? I meant that i doubt we will move anywhere near stage 3 or 4 of reopening until school is out and old people are vaccinated.

My goal is to see my family together at one time, which is 15 people. Even better if we can do that around a dinner table

Edit. Here is a definition of lockdown. https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/lockdown

a temporary condition imposed by governmental authorities (as during the outbreak of an epidemic disease) in which people are required to stay in their homes and refrain from or limit activities outside the home involving public contact (such as dining out or attending large gatherings)

"Authorities placed the central Chinese city under lockdown on Jan. 23 after the virus had infected hundreds of residents and was just starting its spread across the globe."
    — Darryl Coote

"The San Francisco Bay Area lockdown and national guidelines signal a rapid escalation of government and business efforts to halt the coronavirus spread via restrictions that will slam the brakes on economic activity."
    — Ed Carson

NOTE: Individuals who are employed in various occupational fields (such as healthcare, public works, law enforcement, and food supply) considered essential to public health and safety may continue working outside the home during a lockdown.
