Sigh, well of course it works like this. Removing the old manifold it snapped at the threads. Fuck this I'm just taking it back to PA for a new one.

You realize you are talking to the guy who made his own furniture out of salad bowls right?

No sale is final until you're satisfied. We guarantee to make it right. We will repair, replace or refund any product to your satisfaction.
So I took the snapped old manifold still half stuck in the tank, back to the customer service desk. Because I've had it more than a year and I don't have the receipt, the best they could do if I wanted to exhance was the lowest sale price, about half what the new tanks cost. The one customer service person seemed really annoyed at me. But another dude jumped over and told me not to fuck around with that, grabbed me an easy-put off the shelf, and told me exactly how to fix it.

In the end, I probably spent more on the new manifold plus the easy out, than a replacement woukd have been, but hey, it's all fixed up now.

Good thing too because I am winterizing my trailer today and I use the tank as an additional reservoir to allow more volume for longer to blow the lines.

Anyway, it's all fixed, thanks everyone for the advice. Beyond is the best.
