How does one claim under $20k income to CRA?
Do you need to be with the Underground Casino groups or be Iranian and owning a currency exchange business in Canada?

    Asking for a friend.

400 bucks is 400 bucks. Better than getting dick all. If it’s so irrelevant to anyone then feel free to donate it to your favourite charity or just don’t claim the credit and keep it in the CRA’s bank account.

Speculation on future tax increases is certainly a fair discussion point, but personally I’m happy to get some kind of Covid stimulus after seeing stats about how cerb was abused by some freeloaders. Doesn’t even come close to my canceled bonus this year, but I’m blaming China for that not the feds.

    WFH productivity study:
    https://www.weforum.org/agenda/2020/...emote-working/

44% has improved productivity switched to WFH. 39% has no impact. Only 18% surveyed has less productivity.

Its just one study, but interesting. I've always felt that a proper, productive in person meeting was valuable (along the same idea as why email sucks for communication). The collaborative process is much different in person.

Currently I am WFH as a contractor, I don't think my productivity has gone up much. But my overall day is much better, saving 2 hours of driving and being rural, I also cook 95% of my food at home now plus work out with those extra 2 hours per day.

Of course for the most part, I could be offshored and they would likely get the same output for cheaper as long as the person was fluent in English. They won't as its not the typical job that you'd stay WFH, but its not critical I be onhand right now.

My wife's productivity has gone through the roof, but only because she's enslaved herself to the home office 10 hours a day, and barely stopping for lunch, and no other breaks.

Then she complains how stressed she is, disregarding all advice to work a normal 8h day with normal breaks, just as if she was in the work office.

I had this exact same issue WFH.
Having my office in the house, I always had issues with "oh I can do that one more thing quick" and creating separation from work and home life.
I worked ~2+ hours more/ day than I would in the office.

Back in the office now, and its much better.

Business has doubled, team from 5 to 3... doing the same, but not by choice. The whole fucking point of going back to employee was for a god damn balance.

I found that unless you are under an union, there is no difference between employee vs contractor. Especially last 5 years.

Much like Tire Robert, I though WFH would suck because many horror stories from 10 years ago when people are forced to WFH with this outfit I'm with. But ended up liking this change. But I think age and mellowing out had to do with the acceptance to a degree.

Yeah, I had a similar problem; it's easy to get lost. We got a puppy in late July and we used to walk her in the evenings. But now I have to get out by 4 if I want to get back before dark.

Considering I start most mornings at 7am, I'd try to be leaving the office by 4 anyway, but it feels weird to do it when you're at home. So forcing myself to walk the dog at 4 creates a really nice break in my day, gets me out of the house, and I can come home and stay out of the office the rest of the evening (most of the time!).

I was like... real self employed, my own clients, no guarantee of a cheque in a consistent frequency, so work was always yes.

    It’s a hard life for a giggalo.

Much easier to work for a pimp.

Just need to turn that into dinner being cooked and the house being cleaned...

On a more serious note, what is with you wierdos that get off on working more for the same pay? I could understand if there was a tangible benefit (promotion, raise, bonus) but most people who do this don't seem to get anything back. /Tangent

I’ve yet to have any pushback on adding my OT into Dayforce... still rather not work it though, sleep would be a great alternative

+1 on continuing to get a paycheck. I also like the sense of feeling like I accomplished something that day, especially after sitting on my thumb for several months. To me working from home is tangible benefit so for the extra effort they get out of me its a fair trade off in my books.

I also get a chuckle about anyone who thinks working 10 hours in a day is enslavement. Classic.

Your employment is contingent on you working continual extra unpaid time?

    Huh.

Note to self - find employees who will work for free

Also note - That isn't what Tik-Tok said at all, he said his wife chooses to do so when her normal day is 8 hours. Hence my weirdo comment, I know a few people like this.

To be fair, the alternative is to spend time with tik-tok
