With my switch to Bell I could have got an Iphone X for next to free but I just can't function without a menu button. Everyone who has switched has told me it's not a big deal and that you get used to it but I don't want to.

easy to get used to.
When I use my wife's 7 plus, it feels so archaic to use the button.
I only miss touch id when my phone is flat on a table and I just want to see the message preview. you have to hover over it.

+1, it's amazing how my 7 I gave to my wife feels now when I have to use it. FaceID is a better system by far, and the gestures beat the home button hands down. I found touchid woked with maybe a 50% success rate in practice, faceid its over 90% for sure. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
As for the notch, can't say I even really notice it.
Easily the best iPhone I have ever had overall.

Yea, touch ID, WTF is that? Using my iPad with Touch ID seems so... 2015. Face ID is fast and intuitive, don't even think about biometric authentication using it. Just silently does the work.
Lack of home button hasn't been an issue either. I'm hoping everything shifts to Face ID and no home button so I have a consistent experience across iPad and iPhone.

50% ? Something was probably wrong with your phone if it was anywhere near that bad. In all my years using fingerprint enabled phones, including the iPhone, it was nowhere near that bad. The Pixel phones I have literally never had a read failure, and my iPhones/iPad the fingerprint read failures are still few and far between. My Samsungs were like the iPhones, the odd failure but failures were seldom enough not to really matter. If I had anything that failed 50% of the time (or anywhere even close to that bad) it would be RMA'd.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
It depends on the person. Humidity changes the profile of the fingerprint for a small number of people. Same thing if you use moisturizer or come out from the shower. You can get around it by learning the same finger multiple times. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Same problem with the Nexus fingerprint machines at US customs at the airport. Whenever it's cold and dry, that line actually gets backed up a little from all the failures.

5S, 6S, 7 didn't matter. All crap.
Not a hardware fault, the system just clearly didn't like my hands so obviously I wasn't a fan of the tech. Clearly too easily interefered with.
FaceID on the other hand. First time every time.

It was pretty irritating though, I never used apple pay because of it because it was too slow to sit there fumbling on my phone for the passcode. Better to just pull out the visa and tap. Starting to using it again now that I am on the X and its pretty sweet.

Interesting. I've never had issues with hand lotion or at the gym (sweat), but maybe it's more of an individual thing. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Dunno what all that means but man I do love my iPhoneX lol
So Apple HomePod? Who's getting one? Rage2 for sure.
Will fuck off, again.
Don’t have a need for it yet. Besides, not available in Canada at launch. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
We have music in every room already through AirPlay and Apple TV 4K over the HT. Doubt the HomePod can come close in sound quality or volume. As for Siri and home automation, that’s already on our phones and tablets, and they’re everywhere here haha.

Rage2: So, I bought the Apple HomePod
And I put it in the bathroom do Siri can recognize who is sitting on the throne doing their business by the sounds of their farts and then Siri, in turn, can command my preprogrammed and automated shit mister to spray out a personalized pleasing cover-up smell based upon the molecular make-up of said fart already made available by the currently in-place fart molecular analyzer model 8888.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Aside from the random out of order message (which was supposed to be fixed in last update but not really) I've been on it all morning with my team with no issues.
