    Default HELP! vibration and floating

Hey everyone just new to the site. Anyhow I have a few problems with my civic.

    1) While CRUISING at lower speeds in any gear I get no vibration. But when I step on it I get vibration in the car, wheels and steering wheel. What would cause this?

    2) at higher speeds 90km/hr and up, I get a really floating feeling through the steering wheel, it's pretty hard to keep going straight, and if I turn the wheel a bit then I get a really soft feeling like the car is floating and not stable at all. What would cause this?

    Thanks,
    Doug

For motor mounts what would someone recommend?
should I fill them? and with what could I do that with?
or should I just get inserts? and what brand is best?

And for shocks what would be my best bet? I am lowered alot.

I am getting a fair bit of wear on the tires on the insides and might be toeing in a bit. Would this also cause some of my problems with the floating feeling? and would a camber kit also help this out at all?

    thanx

It could be so many things man, tie rods, wheels off balanced, motor mounts however that would give vibration during low idle as well. Best bet is to bring it somewhere that gives free estimates like Midas or something.

Dude it was a stab in thin air when I said motor mounts. But if they're fucked, replace them.

As for the shocks, what are you currently using? What sort of springs? What's the drop on them and at what stiffness are your springs?

A camber kit will not change the floatiness of the car, though it will help to keep a bigger part of the tire on the road.

oops! my bad, I should have stated that I have coilover suspension. Don't know if that would make a difference.

steering related i would guess, tierods, ball joints, control arm mounting points, if you cant figure this out then get it inspected by a reputable shop cause it doesnt sound too safe.
