Talking "Back" To The Moon - By 2020.

NASA has announced that it will be landing men on the moon "again" - by 2020.
There's a great video here on the NASA site - too bad it looks a lot like the original Apollo.
    Should be cool and futuristic.

PS. The landing was fake - don't say that in public (especially infront of Buzz Aldrin) or this will happen: Clicky.

Edit: Ah. Yeah, it does look like Apollo, with the exception that the new lander and capsule are launched separately. Doing it that way means they don't have to build a new Saturn 5. Thing is, though, Apollo worked. It worked so well that by the time of the last mission, they weren't even televising it any more.

Five gets you ten this is cancelled within the next few years. I'll say this for Bush, he's always been a proponent of high prestige (read: easily propagandized) manned spaceflight. Unmanned missions are a lot cheaper and safer, but unless it's Mars rovers or Titan landers, nobody else gives a shit.

Interesting it's not a water landing. Maybe NASA learned something from the Russians ??

Some people are saying the video of the landing was a fake, and I'll neither refute or agree with this as I haven't looked into it. However fake moon landing video, doesn't mean that they never landed on the moon, simply that they wanted to televise it and had no means other than to make a 'fake' vid.

Again, I'm not saying the video is fake, but even if it was, that doesn't mean buzz didn't step foot on the moon.

It's going to cost the US tax payer several trillion dollars to devlope and launch such a program.

But I guess anything to distract the citizens from their earthly problems of Poverty and Corruption.
