Thanks. Pretty sure it is a Shinsen. When I bought it, I was told it was a Special Edition (Shinsen). I am pretty sure it's just a Shinsen though, not a SE since I believe the grey paint/blue top was exclusive to the Shinsen Is yours a NB as well?Originally posted by xnvy
Nice, I parked mine. Shinsen?

Currently under consideration are the FRS (I can get a 2014 for cost +$500), BRZ (no discounts sadly) or paying cash for a NA or NB Miata.Originally posted by Sugarphreak
^^ You sold your 135i I see!
So.. BRZ?
Leaning towards the Miata, call me gay or whatever.
Lol well, there goes my plan of bringing the Golf thereOriginally posted by Sugarphreak
I did one of the first winter driving programs that Reijo runs, ridiculous amounts of fun!
That said, only cars I can afford to loose go out onto the ice... and the only one I can afford to lose is in a million pieces at the moment, haha.

Honestly whatever I replace the BMW with is never going to see snow and hopefully not rain either, and I really want a convertible. I would also love something with cheap parts in abundance, that's easy and cheap to take out auto crossing, so the Miata fits the bill perfectly.
Get the miata and we'll boost itOriginally posted by Twin_Cam_Turbo

I do like the MX-5 hardtops but soft tops perform better methinks.Originally posted by Twin_Cam_Turbo

Not as heavy as the new ones. That should be fun!
Honestly that's what my heart wants, I just want to find a decent car to start with.Originally posted by Sentry

Yup, I've got a bone stock '01. Only mods are the shift knob and horn.Originally posted by k1l4m

At Twin Cam, if you're going for all out performance, an NB1 (99-00) is your best bet. If you're going for a fun weekend toy, what year doesn't matter but I'll say NB2!
The hardtops for 90-05 mx-5's are almost the same weight as the soft top, maybe even lighter, at least for 03. But people don't always take out the soft top if they put a hardtop on so the weight can double.Originally posted by flipstah

I added a much heavier shift knob too, shifting became a lot smoother.Originally posted by xnvy

The PRHT's are only ~70 lbs heavier than the soft top NC's which is pretty impressive IMO and definitely worth it.Originally posted by flipstah

I didn't add a heavier shift knob, I got a Voodoo. Don't get a voodoo. I'm going to swap it out for a Joyfast knob though. Possibly the leather one if Rev9 ever has a sale.
