This is a fun little toy to play around with and gave me many hours of enjoyment. Unfortunately, I'm forced to sell my toys due to mounting education costs. I bought the Supra last fall and then became very addicted to it. Over time I managed to collect pretty much very uprgade possible for the car. The customizing what I really enjoyed. I could set up any style of racing -top speed, drifting, and solo/motorcross style. I'm only missing the AWD upgrade but I didn't want it because I'm a sucker for realism and Supra's aren't AWD.

Upgrades:
-Body kit: 2 styles of Bomex replica kits for the real car + hood and spoilers.
-Lights: Headlights that brighten up when accelerating, and brake lights
-Suspension & Steering: soft, medium, hard dampening. 3 tie rods with different levels of toe-in
-Tires: 4 Soft/slick, 4 Hard/slick, 4 Soft Treaded, and 4 Hard Treaded
-Stage 2 Motor Upgrade: Drift style, High Speed, Road Race, & Drag all with separate gear ratios to get to your desired balacnce of HP and torque.

but how fast does it go, any idea?

It depends on the motor that you choose to install but I'd say its pretty quick. Its not a typical slow toy R/C car, when they designed they ment for it to be fast. I'll see if I can look up some specs on the feet per second speeds or something along those lines.

If I remember correctly, they go around 30km/h tops.

800 feet per minute is the offical speed at the Circuit City website.
So roughly 244 meters per minute. Which is 14,640 meters per hour and that equals 14.6 Km/hr. But that is stock, its much faster with the Stage 2 upgrades. The Stage2 motors have 30,000rpm motors and several final gear ratios that can allow you to set it up for balanced torque and hp/more hp and less torque/more torque less hp, etc.
