VW passat deck install ??? help
Im triing to have a deck installed in a 2002 VW passat GLX
Is it true that they have to rewire it because it has a seperate amp.
the cost to have this done is 200$ just for labor.
Anyone else install a deck in this type of car.

I believe you do have to get it rewired because of the monsoon system in your car. I havent done the deck install myself because it's just way too much trouble to go through ( I have a 2000 Passat with the Monsoon System).

Could you also install the deck and use the front and rear outputs off the deck to hook up the factory amp. So you dont have to rewire it

If you wanted to you could bypass the factory amp. I had to do that with my buddys 4runner.

Wire an MP3 into your stock system instead. It's easier, cheaper and better than a deck.
