nothing terrible really. your tank just builds up condensation and then dilutes your gas. So you get shitty gas mileage. Your fuel filter takes out any kind of particles that may be in there.

How do I get the old gas out?
    1) There's probably a bolt on the tank somewhere to drain it. Bad news is it's probably rusted to hell
    2) unhook the fuel feed line and jumper the fuel pump (if it's got an electric pump)
    3) I thought this one would have been obvious... a siphon hose!

Add new gas to your tank. Once it mixes with the bad gas, it should be fine.

go to your local Auto Value, and buy a container of fuel stabilizer, and add it to the tank with some new gas, it will help you with the bad fuel condition,
