    Default Headlight Conversion Problems

I need help on this. I replaced my stock sealed beams with semi-sealed H4 bulbs and now when I turn on my lights they are really dim. When I turn on the highbeams the left light goes completley out and the right goes to highbeam. What's the problem here?

I have a Toyota (AE86) Trueno (headlights that retract style)

H4 bulbs and the prongs match the factory connectors.

I tried the relay and that was not the problem. I also thought it was a highbeam fuse and that's not it either.

    Thanks.

    Default

I did an H4 conversion a while ago. I used the Bosch kit that comes with the lenses to replace the factory sealed beam and then uses H4 bulbs.

There was a little white harness in the kit that reversed the wiring to the bulb, i tried it without the harness because i thought why would you reverse the wiring, then it didnt work. Put the harness on and it worked fine. Which kit did you get? and is there a harness?

    Default No Harness

I just got the semi-sealed units with replacement bulbs. I wasn't sure if the wiring was different. I didn't get any harness. I might have to build a harness.

check to see that your alternator is putting out enough juice. i have done that same conversion, and there is absolutely no mods needed.

    Default Given It Gas

I am installing a greddy turbo timer so I will be able to monitor the voltage. I will also rev the engine to see if that works.

    Default Still Having Problems

I am still having problems with this. I might need a harness upgrade. Does anyone else know what the problem could be.

    Thanks
