Default NSX for sale in Calgary for under $30k...

    http://www.canadatrader.com/result/d...2&pgno=1&srt=1

Hey I was checking the auto trader and got looking at NSX's. I was thinking that there was the odd chance that maybe somebody knows the history behind this one, or why it's going so cheap. I haven't heard much about Millenium Car and Truck sales before and wanted to get some feedback before I went to check it out.

What do you guys think of this car? I'm thinking this car might be a bitch to work on being mid engine. If it's not done yet, the timing belt would not be fun to change and I imagine parts for this car aren't cheap either. Does anyone have one or know what it's like to maintain one?

    Thanks for any feedback!

Car was obviously bought at an auction for cheap. Price is about right for that mileage & year IMO. The NSX originally in it's first few years wasn't near as expensive as it is today. The price has crept up a fair bit over the years for essentially the same car.

I dont know about the dealership but that year of NSX had a bearing problem in the engine. They warrentied a bunch of engines from those early years, if the engine has not been touched i would stay away as it will not last long and NSX engine are very expensive.

So true. My daily driven '91 Civic that I sold to a buddy has less km today than that NSX.

Thanks for all the comments guys. I didn't know about the engine bearing either - that was good to know.

But yeah you guys have pretty much summed up all my worries about the car. I guess somebody really got their enjoyment out it - the mileage is quite high for that type of car...

Could be a great deal for someone. Make sure everything is checked by an Acura dealer, the udates have been done (snap ring and window regulators too).

Parts such as t-belt and other "normal" pieces are suprisingly cheap, do-it-yourself or pay someone, it shouldn't cost anymore than an Accord (don't let anyone tell you otherwise).

Make sure there has NEVER been any damage to the frame. DO NOT buy an NSX that has been in a severe accident. With all of the aluminum, the car can never be properly repaired.

Other than these notes, the car could be a deal!

get all the appropriate checks done and if it checks out go for it....i personally would not want an ns with that many k but thats just me i mean under all that beautiful metal it is a honda and "should" last forever

edit- for that much money i would probably go for a 10 yr newer s2k....but -10 for uniqueness then ......as long as the nsx would not be your daily driver!

This car IMO is only worth the hassle if you like if for its looks..

from what i recal reading the 90-91s had some pretty crappy suspension geometry, soft Springs and not so responsive steering, if I rember again i think it wa in 95 that they changed a few things and then it became a real Super car, but yeah Mellinuim has some super shady practicies, but from what I hear thier cars a legit, its the sellers your need to look out for

I've have been in to check out several cars. They BS like everything!! You need to know the in's and outs of a car you want. After they feed u the bullshit, if u correct them, first they argue then they say that they dont have all the current info. I have seen two cars with fake badging, one car with several random hoses, and a accident car that they denied.

I can't agree with the accident statement.

Think of an aluminum can: crush it, bend it, whatever. Now try and put it back. You might get it close, you might even get it right, but touch it where you crushed it, and the aluminum is noticably softer than before. NSX frame/body work = aluminum can.

well unless its an aluminum alloy, insteading of bending it will rather break, yeah soda cans are tin and aluminum alloys, hence why they bend so easily, even aluminuim foil is more tin than aluminum these days..
