Well I hope that Anahiem wins tonight. Either way it should serve as a wakeup call for the Flames. They could wake up tomorrow tied with Anahiem and Edmonton with 86 points for 5th(if Avalanche win and Greasers win tonight).

If you're on the ice when you're team scores, you get a plus, whe you're on the ice when the other team scores, you get a minus.

Powerplay goals do not give you a plus or minus, shorthanded goals do however.

Flames have been playing like that all season I think, they put in a lot more effort with good teams. 7 home games left, most teams have about 4 I think. Good schedule for the flames.

Scary part right now is, if you put Nashville in 3rd (arrange the conference by points) you have 7 teams within 5 points of eachother for 5 spots. All good teams, fighting, and two won't make it. I predict LA will be one of them, but as for the other one, it might even end up being one of the Canadian teams. I don't see the Avs tanking it, and the ducks and sharks are both hotter than hell right now. Getting scaarrryyyyyy.

Is there a possibility of there being a tie for the 8th spot lets say, same number of wins and points? Just wondering if its ever happened, seeing how close the points are between the 5 teams that are fighting to get in...

Couldn't find the official rule if a team is tied for 8th, but I would assume it goes to wins, then the season series between teams, then GF/GA.

You are right. If theres a tie, it goes to wins, then it goes to goals for/against difference
