    Default Rev-matching, heel-toe-rev-matching, and heel-toe-rev-match-double-clutching...

Most people often get confused about what revmatching is, what heel toe is, and what double clutching is...so I decided to make a video. I've also always wanted to grab footage of my footwork. My girlfriend helped me take this video last weekend in my car.

    video of footwork!

First, I did a simple revmatch, which involves blipping the gas while downshifting. You'll see that I didn't clutch in all the way, which is sort of a bad habit that I have when I'm not driving hard.

Next, I did a simple heel-toe, in the proper manner, with the ball of my foot on the brakes and my heel swiveled to stab the throttle and revmatch.

Finally, I did a heel-toe whilst doubleclutching. It involves stabbing the throttle to revmatch while the clutch is out in neutral, then clutching back in again to get to the next gear.

Then I followed with just a quick boot to get back up to speed.

Geez, I dunno...if a guy was really good he wouldn't need to use the clutch at all!

True, but eventually you will always f*ck up a shift and grind. I save the no clutch work for winter beaters and borrowed cars

Also, my feet are too damn big and my legs are too damn long to heel toe. Luckily my feet are wide enough I can use one side on the brake and one on the gas

Any gearbox can shift without a clutch. Yes, Jeff got owned! Thinks he knows everything but really only pretends to!

I've done it a few times in the Porsche after losing hydraulic pressure to the clutch. I believe cocoabrova's also a master of clutchless shifting, had to drive Hollywood's car with no clutch. If you want a video, I'd be glad to make one.

Clutchless driving is really only for emergencies though, not for performance. Can't really shift fast doing it, and uhh... can't really stop either. You'll have to stall then let the starter get the car rolling!

Yea, I did it for about three weeks in an '85 Opel Kadett ... starter died, but transmission kept on living... replaced starter and clutch, voila, drove around again

I can shift without using the clutch, in fact, I needed to do that when my slave cylinder blew out, but why would anyone make a video about that? It's slow, hard on the syncros, and not even fun. I don't think anyone is a "better driver" if they know how to shift without a clutch, seeing as it's easy and all it demonstrates is a knowledge of how to revmatch.

And no you don't need to stall to stop. All you need to do is turn the key to off.

BAHAHA RAGE2 GOT OWNED! OWNED OWNED OWNED!
