I have vectors down pretty well but I cant figure out one thing.
I have 28.7 deg S of W
which is 61.3 deg W of S
RCS is 208.7 deg
but what does W #of degrees S
and S # of deg W mean?

Ok basically when you have W of S then your vector will be pointed south at first and THEN it moved 61.3 deg West. For S of west, then your vector is originally pointing west, but then it was moved 28.7 degrees south. The direction is roughly the same but the angles will be different... hope that helps.

I understand that part, the question orginally had 28.7 deg S of W so I figured out that its 61.3 deg W of S and RCS is 208.7 deg.
But what I dont get is W #deg S and S #deg W. What would the # be? Is it W 61.3deg S or W 28.7deg S.

wow that is some pretty messed format, what class is this for?
and i would say that u are right with W 61 S
hrmmm physics 25?? whats that? is it taught in highschools???
do you mean physics 20? or is this just a physics unit in science 20???
ive never been taught that way
Its through college, they said its a grade 11 and 12 combined, I need it as a prereq.
wait actually i think its W 28 S, because it would be the vector is pointing west, but 28 degrees south
I thought it'd be the other way around too - W 28.7 S . We only went over this for maybe one minute though since the teacher himself said we don't need to know it, so I could be wrong.
Ya thats what I was thinking too, but its just the way the question is thats screwing me up. Bah its only 2 marks, I'll go with that.
Thanks guys.
Awesome - tell us if its right or wrong once you mark it, I don't want to go in for the final exam and have a question like that and be screwed lmao.
LOL, ok will do.Originally posted by Gurpy
