I am far from an expert at this point but i've been doing a bit of reading on this subject lately.

Not many differences in the block. The pistons are the same quality, just higher compression. Rods, crank, block all the same.

    The head is completely different.

I remember reading something about the GTE block having oil squirters under the pistons. I can't find anything about it right now though. But that's another difference.

    What car is this for?

The 2jz-ge runs a higher 10:1 compression but has higher compression pistons. The head castings are both very similar as is the block casting other than the obvious things such as the port for the diff intake and exhaust manifolds. The true differences are in the ancillary systems such as the ignition, fuel, intake exhaust manifold and cooling systems. I think the NA version also has larger intake valves.

compression, low compression pistons and rings but i believe the head is the exact same.
