Umm, I haven't used it much tbh.... Going to wait until tomorrow and give a try outside with bright lighting... The indoor lighting makes it rather difficult... To answer your questions, No you can't increase the size of the in-focus area, and most of the images are slightly soft, its not L-glass by any means... But if I decide to keep it (still up in the air right now) I would use it STRICTLY for fun...

Another shot from tonight... God, I love this 50mm

I wouldn't let the slow turnaround time of the service centre speak on behalf of the quality of the product. From my understanding, the turn around time was the result of a couple factors: they moved locations later than expected, backed up from summer load, understaffed, etc... My camera ended up being sent off to Toronto for the cleaning. It didn't cost me anything but time, so there's nothing too much to complain about.

    Hood looks overexposed.

Good looking shots, though the center of the first shot seems a bit blown out. That could be an illusion due to the black background, I'm not sure. All in all, I like the second shot better.

Ah, that's good. As long as they're fixing the problem, I probably don't have anything to worry about.

Exactly the kind of input I was looking for! The only thing I can't figure out how to fix is the bright spot in the SALEEN logo on the windshield...

    Ver. 3:

Edit: Fixed logo, desaturated background, added my new temporary logo-thingy.

No, that's kind of a side effect of some lenses. It happens with some lenses and doesn't with others. I read it might have something to do with the coatings on the glass.

Anyways, here's the last decent shot I look in the last little while.

Hmmm... I wonder. Perhaps there's some anti-scratch coating on the lens? I have no idea what lens you used.

Hey guys looks like I'll be picking up a D70 this month. Once I get it who wouldn't mind showing me how to use it?

My friend's actually planning on unloading his dSLR gear and going medium format pretty soon. He's getting the Mamiya RZ because you can switch between film and digital backs. Fuck, that's sweet.

The shots the medium-format cameras take are just stunning. They make most digital cameras look like freaking disposables!

I'm pretty sure you can switch out the film canisters on the Hasselblad as well, though I'm a total newb to medium-format stuff in general. Apparently Hasselblad has been around forever. The first Hasselblad camera was made in 1948.

An interesting fact: All of the shots taken by the Apollo crews on the Moon were done with a Hasselblad camera! The cameras used by the Space Shuttle crews are also Hasselblad units.

But, yeah, medium-format cameras are waaaay out of the average enthusiasts' price ranges!

I was actually down at The Camerea Store today (returning the Lensbaby I bought lastweek).. and they have that HasselBlad H2D on the shelf... I wouldn't have even thought twice about what it was, had I not seen this thread before going down there...
