Beyond Shinny Hockey Voting/Details Thread

Ok guys...
In order for us to book some ice for everyone we are going to need a few details.

Please select all nights that you are available to play. To get the cheapest ice we need to assume that any ice time will be after 10:30pm on whatever day chosen.
The rink will most likely be either Brentwood (NW), Triwood (NW), Crowfoot (NW), Crowchild (NW), Centennial (SW), Father David Bauer (NW), or West Mount Pleasant (NW).

Please only post in this thread if you are seriously interested in playing. The estimated cost per player will be $10. The one goalie will be free (Vince is the other goalie).

Most of us will be wearing FULL EQUIPMENT, HOWEVER, YOU ARE FREE TO WEAR AS MUCH EQUIPMENT AS YOU FEEL SAFE WITH. FOR LIABILITY SAKE, HELMETS ARE MANDATORY.

The games will be pretty open, no slapshots, no body contact...

So post in this thread with what day(s) you can play, whether or not you will be rocking full equipment and whether you are a goalie or not and we will go from there.

dont like to play sundays either. thurs and friday would be the best.

I put down thurs fri sat, need to find a helmet though. If it comes down to a choice, I love Centennial arena.

I think i still have an account at Centennial arena, they are a little on the pricey side tho... and hard to find good ice-times

I was playing around their website yesterday at work and they have listings of their available ice-slots right now...
Some are pretty pricey.

Mon/Tues/Thurs for me. Already play every Sun.

Since it's just shinny, I won't be goin full eq. Only if some ppl wanna play contact, but that's highly unlikely. It would be myself +1 4sure.

did you try Springbank? good access from NW using Calaway exit off 16th... I also vote for Centennial; nice and close.

I can also likely get a lot more guys out if needed

Yo i'd love to play, but i think it should be full equipment if your gunna play in a real arena. leave the "shinny" to the local outdoor rink. It should be "beyond Rec League" or something. if its optional equipment i dont think i'd like to play. i know not everyone has full equipment, but shit its not hard to get used. and it isnt a fashion show so who cares?



Also despite the price i think Centenial should be chosen as the rink. great ice, and its fairly central. im wayyyy up in the NE but used to drive there for lacrosse through rush Hour alot, and it was pretty quick.



o and one quick note, we should all get jersey's with our beyond name on the back hahahaha

Monday or Wednesday for me. And Wed might be a write-off too. I work on Tues and Thurs and already have hockey on Fri and Sat. Sunday's typically suck so I guess I will just have to show up when you guys play.

Why not just go with pants only. That way we can raise the puck a little, and shin guards will make the game a little more fun.

Shoulder and upper body optional.

Hahaha I realized this about 15 mins in last night Vince... I was like "shit a lot of these guys look REALLY small"... Yea no shoulder pads were being worn...

Ok so looks like about 13-14 beyonders...
So far only 1 goalie (Vince)...
I have a few people who can come out if we need a few more, including a goalie.
I will leave this open for a few more days and then we will see what day is best to do this. From there myself and Vince will book us some ice.
