Default the ventilation fan making clicky noise..

the vent fan in my moms subaru is makin a clicky noise like when u took a bycicle and put a piece of paper in its wheel when its turning ykno? so i was wondering how to access the fan assembly and like take a look at the fan.. the noise disappears when i brake medium hard (like coming down a hill) or taking a 90 degree turn over 20mph.. but then comes back right away..

    any ideas?

Sometimes leaves and twigs and crap get in there..... you may have to take out the blower motor to clean it out one day..... While you are at it, you can also replace the cabin air filter, which I highly recommend doing because it is usually pretty gross in there. I noticed mine doing that again tonight.... its an off and on kinda thing....

Mine is under my hood on the left. An easy way to find the heater box is to turn the key so that the stereo and everything is working inside. Then turn the heater on and you should hear it.

Every car I have ever had it has been under the glove compartment... or around that area. Usually take the bottom trim peice out underneath and you should see a maze of ECUs and electronics, and the blower motor. You can also look where the heater hose comes through the firewall, and that can give you a better idea of where it is.

Ramminghard is right too.... just turn the accesories on and you will hear the fan fire up.

Your fans are right in the front of your car, behind the radiator. The fans seldom come on for you car, but when they do they are pretty loud. It sounds like your fan is not the problem because it is not constantly on. The fans just kick in periodically.

Maybe it is a rock stuck in your tire making the clicking sound? That is if it is a constant clicking....

I think people are talking about 2 different fans. There is a rad fan and a blower motor fan. I have never heard of a blower motor fan being under the hood near the rad.

The Rad fan (under hood) should come on once the coolant temperature sensor says so.... not intermitantly. The blower motor should come one obviously when you want it to.

If it is the rad fan making a noise then you will have to look and see if there are any objects getting in the way of the blades..... hoses, wires, twigs etc.

For the blower motor..... you need to find out where it is and inspect it.

dude... i kinda respected u guys' opinions so i took it seriously .. cause anything could happen altho i was a bit sceptical about that and thats why i wanted to kno how the hell it would get in there.
and i can prove that toast can get into the fan, if i stuff it in there
