when will people realize "inspired by true events" doesnt mean the movie is in anyway factual?

texas chainsaw massacre was "inspired by true events" but in no way was accurate.

actually the only real part that was accurate at all was the original texas chainsaw massacre that some guy would dig up the bones of people in a graveyard and build the chairs and tables out of the bones.

also amittyville horror? based on true events?! who are they trying to kid!

Could be interesting.... I dunno. Too much of a teaser and not enough of a trailer to sell me on the idea just yet. If the coming trailers make it out to be even more fucked up than it already is, I'll check it out. (6)

not really a Tarantino movie in my POV, i mean he "presents" it.

he also presented Hero, did he really have any hand in that?

    exactly.

TCSM is based on the same actual events the hitchcock's psycho and silence of the lamb's buffalo bill were loosely based on. i researched this for a film studies class. It was a wierd dude named ed gein : http://www.chasingthefrog.com/reelfa...aschainsaw.php

Tarantino is the producer for the film, meaning he did look at the script, helped finance it and helped find a studio to buy it. That's about all that's QT about this film.

If it was a Tarantino film, you'll see it promoted as "The 5th Film By Quentin Tarantino" (even tho it'll be his 6th ).

^^ Tarantino is not even the producer for this film, he just let them use his name so it would get more publicity

But he chooses good films to put his name on.
Not like you're gonna see him put his name on "THE FAST AND THE CURIOUS".

Somebody told me that Tarantino's next movie was going to be a kung fu movie that was poorly dubbed on purpose? This does not look like it.
